Asia Asia Business Bay — Restaurant in Dubai

Honestly the worst restaurant I have ever been to. When we entered the restaurant we were the only people inside. There was 6 of us and shortly 4 more people also came, other than that the restaurant was completely empty. There were more staff than customers yet they just stood around and we had to keep calling them over to serve us as they never came to our table to ask us if we wanted to order. 45 minutes later they still hadn’t asked if we even wanted to order drinks so I had to call someone over to get this. The music was so loud and it was terrible so I asked if it could be turned down to which they told me no. Our food took 1 hour 15 minutes to come which I found ridiculous considering there was 10 people in the entire restaurant. We asked to speak to the manager and I can only assume it was her first day on the job as I’ve never met someone so unprofessional and bad at her job as she was the rudest person I’ve ever met. She said she was watching us from the corner and the reason no one came to ask us for drinks is because we were talking too much, the reason we were finding the music so loud is because we are next to other people, when I said my food had come cold she said the chef has said it’s not cold so basically I’m a liar. She also kept rolling her eyes and smirking as we were talking. She finally said if I don’t eat the food I can either have a replacement or discount so I said I don’t want a replacement as we had already waited far too long. Finally when the bill came and we told her we are using the entertainer app she then told us if there’s nothing more she will do about the fact that 3 of us didn’t eat our food despite saying that my meal would be removed from the bill. When I told her that I had no eating my meal she had to call the waiting staff over to ask ‘did she eat her meal?’ To which the waiting staff said half of it, which again was a lie. My friend kept asking for the bill and the waiting staff and manager ignored her. The whole experience was the worst in my life and it’s no wonder they had no customers as they can’t even make good food or have good service for the ones that do turn up. My biggest regret other than going was actually having to pay and waste money on that. The whole team there...

On Saturday May 18th we made a reservation in the afternoon for the Evening Brunch on the same day. The Saturday evening brunch starts at 8pm and ends at 11pm. The Asia Asia restaurant is situated in the Grand Millenium hotel in Dubai’s Business Bay Area and there is a free valet service when you stamp your ticket. With the Entertainer application a brunch for two with unlimited house beverages costed us 440AED. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with Asian statues and artificial flowering trees. We had a lovely seat underneath a tree and the four course Brunch, served at the table, could start. As starters we had a variety of sushi served in a bowl filled with ice cubes: the salmon was delicious, the sushi overall not impressive. We very much enjoyed the Edamame green beans and (upon request) we were served an addition bowl. The hot starters included chicken and fish (sea bass)on sticks with a cucumber salad. As main course (the only one you need to select) we picked the Jasmine Lamb chops (just two pieces per person). The poor and chaotic service started to annoy us more and more. Probably not enough staff to serve a packed restaurant. Only after one hour we got our bottle of sparkling water and cocktails also took a very long time to arrive. As part of the house package you can choose from 2 cocktails (Mango Lust & Asian Bay). One was very sweet and the other one not very strong. In the meantime we got 4 bowls of Edamame beans served by different waiters. The variety of dessert was ok, but not very special like the overall brunch at Asia Asia. I found a thorn in my SeaBass! Mediocre service. If you’re going for the ambience choose to sit inside as the waterfront views are not provided even though requested. I specifically asked for a water facing table and was asked to sit at a different table even though i was well within the fifteen minute buffer they offer to hold your table. Appalling experience with the food as well. this was supposed to be a buffet but they had limited sushi which wasn't mentioned. The portions are not up to mark when compared to other asian places that have a buffet service.the dumplings served were veg. Regretted it the moment I put it in my mouth. It was some mush stuffed in the dumpling. Instantly spat that out! The beef was bland no sauce or salt. Even street food has better salt on a steak than this place. the sea bass curry and rice was delicious but had a thorn in the fish which is not expected from a restaurant of this level. Tuna was stale in the sushi prepared. They were stingy on the pomelo in a watermelon pomelo salad for crying out loud. I had to request a fresh bowl (this is not unlimited). It's a fixed menu. We fell sick the next day thanks to the food. They have unlimited Alcohol. The manager wanted to know the feedback of the place directly from me while I was clear about it to the person who waited on us. Its all show and no value for an experience that you're spending for.
