Authentic Kathiawad food, where you will find Spicy Gujrati cuisine. Great staff, who will tell you about each dish they will serve you. Large space for seating inside and outside. Very neat and clean arrangement, great ambience. Food cooked with high standards of Hygiene. Went for Lunch on a working day, so no rush and super fast service. We went with unlimited Thali for AED 33.00. Limited Thali is for AED 24.00. What we liked the most in Thali which was medium to less spicy, papdi chaat, namkeen gujia - filled with veggies, Dhokla, Kadi, Gwar ki sabzi, Roti with Ghee, Bajra roti with Ghee and Jaggery, Buttermilk and Shreekhand in dessert. You can try Kadi Rice combination which will not fail you. Please ask for Ghee separately, you might like to use Ghee in Kadi and Gwar ki sabzi. Other items were also good but a bit more spicy (paneer, daal and aalu ki sabzi) Please note that if you go for unlimited Thali, Do not take large servings, as you can ask for fresh and hot re-servings. This will be add more satisfaction to your overall experience. A tiny part but great part was when staff will bring hand wash to you on your table like the times of Kings in India. Located at a very convenient location in Karama. There is ample RTA parking available. Please check if this place is covered under Zomato gold, Entertainer or any other program where you can use the one on one free offer. Overall a great authentic traditional food experience in UAE at a reasonable cost.
Khichdi was not upto the mark. Very bland and not smooth. They serve halwa with different fruit flavours, eg:- Strawberry halwa. Please note that they do use actual fruit to prepare the halwa but they also use artificial flavouring agents. So, if you have any allergies or if you are health concious then better to avoid this. Hand wash area is very congested. You need to press the dirty button on waste bin to open it. This causes the germs to again catch your palm after washing your hands at the hand wash area. For weekends there might be rush so you might have to wait for table...
Read moreFood taste zero star. Seems like no tadka (vaghar) in all sabji Kathiyawadi food should have appealing aroma of onion garlic but this food had no aroma. No salad was served. Come on. At least, sliced cucumber and onions would add crunch. Even though there are multiple dishes supposedly served, there are basic items missing. Plain yogurt was not served. Yes, they gave me instantly when requested but only a small portion in their tiny bowl. I was not impressed. Kathiyawadi food should have some standard items but none here. No ringna no oro, vagharelo rotlo, lasaniya bataka....none of these dishes served. Staff try very hard to be nice and polite but it felt pressuring. Dear manager, standing next to us and speaking very politely doesn't add taste to the food. Stop harrassing while we are eating. We don't need your buzzing sweet words but rather we need tasty food with authentic kathiyawadi touch. Daal dhokli was watery with lots of chilli. No vaghar, no taste, hardly any dhokli inside. Bataka sabji hardly had any potato. It was only water and 1 piece of potato. Khichdi was pale tasteless. If management/ manager really wants to know the feedback, just look at the plates of diners when they finish eating. Most of the tiny bowls are still filled and food is uneaten, that means customers didn't like it. Don't be too strict with your waiter staff. When they are afraid, it can be seen. Group dining doesn't mean compromised quality. You may be thinking of OSD (one shot deal). Tourists in group are unlikely to return. But you will be surprised. They will return during the few days visit. And they definitely can influence through social media. Only for decoration and interior, I would give 4*. Credit to the owner, not operational staff. Overall, far from good. Unimpressive....

One of the worst thali experience after a long time in Dubai, they have kept the poster saying best Thali in Dubai (I am not sure who rated that) which is too far from reality. I had very bad experience in terms of the taste of the food and with Manager who do not know what a manager of restaurant role required, common you cant behave so rudely with customers, specially in Dubai where no one behave so badly with each other. Clearly he tried to fool as saying please sit inside the restaurant when their was space for sitting outside (All because we was 2 thalis compared to he wanted to make someone sit there who could pay for 4-6 thalis).
Being myself from Kathiyawaad (Saurastra) this thali is nowhere near the actual taste of Kathiyawaadi thali, you can easily make out their cheap quality and less trained cooks who dint know the job.
Waiters are well dressed and bit well mannered, but Manger is absolutely unprofessional and no need to say a restaurant performance depends more on the Cook and the Manager (What reception you get) which is below Par. WILL NEVER REFER ANY OF MY FRIENDS AND THE READER OF THIS POST TO VISIT THIS RESTAURANT. there are much much better thali...
