I have only tried the close-to-heart Cherandi (Cheth-Ice for some) and Kulukki Sarbath, both of which I have fond memories of. The order, though which took some time, was done well.
The indoor dining area looks amazingly set (the ceiling work is commendable). Outdoor seating arranged in the form of fishing boats, and named after the Aayikara Harbour (another memory close to the heart), is a great thought. The Milma Booth is yet another smart gesture from the management, and people of Kannur who frequent the stall by the petrol pump (back in Kannur) will smile at the sight.
I’m not sure if City Makhni and Aayikara Harbour successfully captures or echoes the true spirit of the actual City (a coastal town in Kannur comparable to Kuttichira of Kozhikode and Mattancherry of Ernakulam) and Harbour. But, the brief experience I’ve had was pleasant.
The staff deserves special mention for their humble service. Now that is a real City trait.
Edit 1 (March 2021) :
Been frequenting this place for the evening snacks - few plates of the super crispy Onion Pakoras and few glasses of Fresh Milk Tea, with less sugar.
What has taken my attention and loyalty here is the authenticity of the “Milma Booth Tea” served, which does take unusually long for a tea, but absolutely worth it. People in Kerala who has tea from Milma Booths by a bus-stand/stop or railway station can relate to the taste. The flavour of milk is evident. It will take you on a nostalgic trip.
The Onion Pakoras (Ullivada or ഉള്ളിവട) are the real deal. The best I’ve had from this side of the world. Goes well with the tea.
Just put in a request to reduce the sugar in the tea. Everything being said, the cafeterias in Dubai has a notorious habit of “tilting” unhealthy levels of sugar into whatever that is served in a glass.
Fresh Milk Tea, sugar-less is the right thing to order.
Not exaggerating at all, but this tea reminded me of the bus-stand, lottery ticket announcements, kallaka-varuthe, ksrtc t/t and the chatter with friends over a glass of freshly beaten tea from Milma.

Read morewe were went there today ( 25.12. 24 ) for Christmas lunch. They are well advertising for their Christmas lunch. thats why went there. we were four members. but we are little disappointed . because we didn't get all the menu items which they advertised. And the very worst thing which is that they are not giving curry's ( side dishes ) second time while we having the lunch. several time we requested to them but they are not caring. at last we called one of the staff then we told them please serve side dishes again we are ready to pay extra for that. but again they are telling side dishes are finished. especially chicken fry , beef curry, tapioca etc. we felt that we are insulted while we expecting a auspicious Christmas lunch . even we said to them we are ready to pay the extra price. because our intention is what we want to get a great Christmas lunch. especially we all are living in dubai with the memories of homely food. and last we paid the bill and we called the manager to outside and we informed him. But he clearly explained that as per management instructions staffs serving like that. His that kind of statement was really shocking for us. a very disappointed Christmas lunch in our total life experience. Maybe they are not aware how auspicious this day. especially there are lot's of famous restaurants promisingly functioning in...
