Zaatar W Zeit — Restaurant in Dubai

I am a loyal customer to zwz chain since i was a child, festival xity mall mall is too close to my house in UAE and i have been visitinf this branch ever since i moved almost weekly for their wraps salads and everything else...

the past few weeks , the staff had been rude, one time not accepting my discount app, another time wrong sauce, other wrong item

usually such things pass, due to the taste overruling all the staff errors, but last visit today was something else, wait and get wrong item, wait and get wrong sauce, wait again and get a second item wrong, i had to order it all over again, and paid for a platter i ate and another to go due to the staff mistakes and finally the bill, they charged me 4 items instead of 3, and refused me applying my discount two i wanted and one i didnt want but had to buy due to staff error at this point i dont know who to blame, the staff, the staff trying to rip off clients, the management underpaying them so they try such practices(ripping off clients), or the management for overlooking their eyes maybe blinded by high profits. anyway, hope this comment lands on Caring Ears, i care about this chain, it reminds me of my childhood, my hometown and the taste takes me places, and i hate to see it entering a dark age of weak management and controlling procedures and training staff ... for google users advice; go here for the food, but watch out of the transactions inside...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Zaatar w Zeit Festival City branch and I must say that the highlight of my experience was the exceptional service provided by Ellaine. From the moment I walked in, she greeted me with a warm and genuine smile that immediately made me feel welcome.

Ellaine’s attentiveness throughout the meal was impeccable. She was knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations and answering all my questions with patience and enthusiasm. It was clear that she truly cared about making sure my dining experience was perfect.

What stood out most was Ellaine’s ability to anticipate my needs without being intrusive. My glass was never empty, and she checked in just the right amount of times to ensure everything was to my liking. Her professionalism and friendly demeanor created a delightful and comfortable atmosphere.

The food was fantastic, but it was Ellaine’s exceptional service that made this visit truly memorable. She is a true asset to the team at Zaatar W Zeit and I will definitely be returning soon, in large part due to her outstanding hospitality.

I never write bad reviews, but this experience truly called for one.

First, I want to highlight that the female staff were absolutely lovely and professional, really kind and helpful. However, the male server came across as quite rude. A group of young girls politely tried to hand him empty Coke cans (which they had purchased in the restaurant), and instead of taking them, he simply stood there while the female staff member had to step in and take the cans from their hands. It was uncomfortable to watch and left a bad impression.

Now, the food… I’ve lived in Dubai for 9 years, and sadly, this was one of the worst shawarmas I’ve ever had.

Over 30 AED for a wrap that was half empty, dry, and barely had any chicken, just take a look at the photo.

The hummus was also disappointing, the vegetables on the side tasted defrosted and lacked freshness, which was unexpected given the premium pricing.

It’s disheartening to see this quality after the success of Zaatar w Zeit had.

Unfortunately, it seems like standards have dropped significantly.
