Muchachas... Mexican Cantina

A real Hidden gem far away from the hustle of Dubai, Muchachas Mexican Cantina is located in the ground level of Holiday Inn Express Safa Park. It serves some scrumptious Mexican delicacies. The ambiance is quirky with beautiful neon lights, use of green & pink makes it more welcoming. The place is really an Instagrammable place. Although the restaurant is small, the tables are set at different levels, which makes the place looks quite spacious. The staff is really helpful & friendly. We were welcomed by Happy & Crystal, both make us fee comfortable by guiding us to our table & suggesting us through the menu.

Coming back to the food... we opted to go with the chefs choice of food & he make sure to serve us the amazing meal with whole lot of variety of food.

They served us the famous Nachos & dips along with their special Guacamole .. this is a must to have delicacy if you are at any Mexican restaurant. Super delicious.

The Tomato & Toasted pepper salad was made with all fresh ingredients...

Then they served us the Street style Corn... corn on cob with Chipotle Mayo, spices & lots of cheese ... we loved this Mexican corn.

Another must try dish is the chicken wings... cooked in buttermilk, guajilla hot sauce, burnt honey, served with pickled jalapeños. These sweet & spicy chicken wings were yummilious.

We also tried the Zucchini Tostada... grilled Zucchini, huitlacoche salsa, piquillo puree.... a perfect crispy house made queso. Perfect for a quick bite.

How can we miss to have Cheese Fondue when we are at Mexican cantina 😍. .. made up with smoked cheese, pickled mushrooms & jalapeños, served with green apples, serrano oil & corn bread. Eat it while it’s super hot to get the amazing flavors 🤩

Then comes the Piquillo & Black Bean Quesadillas... made with blue corn tortillas, charred tomato salsa & shredded mozzarella. This is one of the most loved dish.

Not to be missed another dish from the main Course is the Tamarind Grilled Short-rib ... the grass fed beef along with jicama & serrano slaw, piquillo purée served with blue corn tortillas. The meat was cooked to perception... well done & juicy.

We also tried their refreshing Mojito ... Chido... a blend of Apple, Strawberry, coconut & lime Caribbean Sea... made up by mixing Peach, Pineapple, lime, honey & basil Both drinks were really good

Who can moss to have The churros ... 😍 absolutely delicious & definitely worth trying for.

To sum it all, this place is extremely recommended & we would surely visit there again.

We couldn't digest the fact that they didn't have avocado -- pun intended.

Or more accurately, they ran out of avocado at 9:00pm....on a Sunday. A bit odd. "Delivery issues" they said. I get it, I have a food business too.

But as my family and I didn't have the energy to look for another place, plus my daughter really wanted to eat Mexican, we decided to stay.

Chicken and shrimp fajitas were a bit bland. I found myself hounding the Habanero sauce with every bite. And it was oily/greasy but nonetheless, all things considered it was OK.

Nachos had a generous amount of pecorino cheese which made it taste far too milky. I'm not an expert on cheese but it wasn't a flavour any of us particularly enjoyed. An A for presentation though.

Cheese Quesadillas we're a pretty standard offering -- but honestly, that's where the avocado / guacamole was really missed.

Thankfully they accepted a credit card discount which made us feel a bit better -- but frankly, 272 dhs later we were full but not really 100% satisfied. At least we can check the box and say "been there".

All in all an average selection of wines and beverages together with decent service. Staff were great and gave us free chips and salsa (a bit strange though as that's something normally on the table complimentary in most other joints). Nonetheless they were accommodating and friendly. My youngest one doesn't eat Mexican so they allowed us to order pasta from another outlet in the same hotel (which incidentally, was pretty good!)

Maybe will go back there but will definitely call ahead to check if...

Great service from a fabulous team!

I had a craving for some Margaritas and this place was perfect for it - they have a daily Happy Hour from 5-8PM that includes seven varieties of margaritas that you can have frozen or on the rocks, Sol, Spirits and house wines.

The food was absolutely delicious - we ordered the chicken quesadillas (it comes in three - so if you're a couple you're gonna have to figure out who gets the last piece! or order two so you have three between each of you) we also ordered the Chicken Wings (the picture below is just a plate of what's left! it was too good we forgot to take a photo) and the Manga Habanero Chicken Wings (Which was sweet but gradually got really spicy towards the end) They also serve chips with dips and their salsa! don't get me started on their salsa, absolutely amazing! i wish i could buy a jar of it! They weren't stingy about it either, you could ask for more if you'd like but food's not the only thing great about this place! it's the team!

Best teamwork and customer service i've seen so far - i asked for a straw for my margarita, and my next drinks came with it without me needing to ask again and again (simple things like that like anticipating your preferences are the personal touches you appreciate!) and when happy hour was about to end we ordered four more drinks each and instead of serving it all at once we had the option to "keep it coming" on hold for us

You will never be left without a drink in your hand in this place and i highly...
