I recently visited Old Monk Bar & Lounge in Al Jaddaf, Dubai, and I must say, it was an unexpectedly delightful experience! Located on the HC floor of the Palette Royal Reflections Hotel, this bar offers a cozy, uncrowded atmosphere—exactly the kind of vibe I enjoy. I visited around 2:00 PM, so the place was quiet, which was perfect for me, though perhaps not ideal for the owner!

Initially, I had some concerns about payment methods. After calling the number listed on Google Maps, I found out that options like Careem Pay and Noon Pay weren’t available. When I arrived at the bar, I also discovered that PayPal and other digital payment methods I had weren’t accepted. Feeling disappointed, I was about to leave and wait for my friend to bring me some cash when I received a call back from the same number. The person on the line, who I later found out was the owner, went out of his way to offer solutions like bank transfer and even suggested using Zomato to pay. His persistence and customer-centric approach convinced me to stay and give it a shot.

I'm so glad I did! I ended up enjoying four whiskeys on the rocks, and I have to say, this bar is a hidden gem. The staff, including Robin, the bar-in-charge, were all incredibly professional and coordinated, and the music was just the right vibe for a relaxed afternoon. They also have happy hours with super affordable drinks and great offers, making it a pocket-friendly spot for anyone looking to unwind. If you're a shisha lover, they even offer free trials—how cool is that?

Overall, Old Monk Bar & Lounge has made it to my go-to list in Dubai. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a chill, budget-friendly bar with excellent service.

Old Monk Bar & Lounge - New "kid" on the block!

I recently stumbled upon this place & have already patronised it a few times, there has not been any official launch yet however they are open for business, Jaddaf area.

The name is very sentimental, especially for us desi's, Old Monk is a legend!

The place has its own charm, nestled in the HC floor, offering outdoor & indoor options, offering sheesha too( Mustafa is your man).

Robin, very charming personality with loads of experience, leads the team. Ever ready to strike a conversation, when free.

Kiran, Hira are prompt, super and ensure, all is order. Always smiling, keep it going guys!

Akanksha, who manages the Bar has a lovely persona & very entertaining while ensuring the drinks are rolling 😀. You should try the cocktails, psst.....some of which are her creations.

Overall a chilled out place & a must visit for a drink or two or three.....you get the point!.

Re-visited OML last night, this time with "queen" mother.

Simple the best place to hang-out, lots has changed (for the better) since my last visit. Notably the promotion via Zomato, Draft beer is available now 😀.

Service as always is exemplary! My mum, loved the cosy atmosphere & definitely wishes to come again.........soon.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Old Monk Lounge, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The ambiance of the restaurant is both cozy and sophisticated, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing evening out.

What truly set the evening apart was the exceptional service provided by Kiran and Robin. Their attentiveness and warm demeanor made us feel welcome and well-cared-for throughout our meal. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations, which enhanced our dining experience.

The food was delicious, with a well-curated menu that offered a variety of flavorful dishes. Each course was beautifully presented and tasted even better than it looked.

Overall, the combination of excellent service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere makes Old Monk Lounge a must-visit. Kudos to Kiran and Robin for making our evening so memorable. I can't...
