Tagomago, located on Dubai Palm Jumeirah, is a Spanish restaurant and beach club with a stunning location and exquisite interiors that immediately transport you to Spain. The restaurant offers a variety of Spanish dishes, from tortilla to paella de marisco, and promises to be a delightful dining experience.
However, during my recent visit to Tagomago for lunch, while I was impressed with the stunning location and interiors, I was left disappointed with the quality of the food and the overall service.
We started our meal with the tortilla and rock melon pancetta salad, both of which were decent but not exceptional. The highlight of our meal was meant to be the paella de marisco, but unfortunately, it was not cooked properly and lacked the authentic Spanish flavor we were hoping for. The pan con tomate was also a disappointment, lacking any real flavor and seeming rather plain.
The staff was polite but we were left quite unhappy with their service as we were approached to leave the table just as we had sat down to order. We were later informed that this was due to their policy of freeing tables after two hours, but this could have been communicated better to us. Although they apologized, I still feel that the overall service could have been better.
While the restaurant itself was beautiful and exuded Spanish vibes, the food and service didn't live up to our expectations. Moreover, the prices were high and didn't match the quality of the food. Unfortunately, I don't think I will be returning...
Read moreOur dining experience at Tagomago on the evening of February 8th was a major disappointment. The four of us opted for the tasting menu, but unfortunately, the meal fell far short of expectations. The scampi was severely overcooked, it was nearly impossible to chew. The tomato granita was completely flavorless, lacking any trace of tomato. The meat course was particularly poor, with two-thirds of it being inedible due to excessive tendons and fat. More disappointing was that the waiter didn’t even ask when so much was left (he knew). To finish, the Crema Catalana arrived in a runny, unappetizing state, making it clear that the chef had lost control of the preparation. The food quality was well below expectations. Following our visit, I reached out to the restaurant by email (very detailed), and they called me two days later. Instead of addressing the issues professionally, their response was defensive, questioning why I hadn’t raised my concerns during the meal and insisting that no other guests had complained that night. I explained that I didn’t want to disrupt the evening with dissatisfaction. However, the person I spoke with was both dismissive and unpleasant, making the conversation feel entirely pointless. After 10 frustrating minutes, I ended the call feeling even more disappointed.
Unfortunately, this experience left us with no reason to return...
Read moreFirst and foremost, the service was terrible . The female waiters consistently wore strange grimaces and displayed an high level of rudeness throughout our meal.
It was really bad to have unpleasant attitudes, especially considering the importance of friendly and attentive service in creating an enjoyable dining experience.
Same was the quality of the food we were served. We ordered patatas bravas, 2 salads, calamari, others things and no one finished their food. Not only was the service lacking, but the food itself was far from satisfactory.
To make matters worse, the prices charged for the dishes were too much.
A specific incident that exemplifies the poor service was our struggle to ask for bread.
Despite requesting it on two times, we were each given a measly piece of bread. Given that there were five people in our group, it was quite obvious that this was insufficient. When I inquired about a bread basket to the response from the waiter was a curt and unhelpful "NO."
This is how you can rate your service.
Furthermore, the portion sizes of the main dishes were surprisingly small, leaving all of us feeling hungry even after finishing our meals. Begging for a bread was not an option was us anymore and we left.
I hope that you take my feedback seriously and address the issues...
