The food was great (though this was made by Bath Pizza Co). The drinks were good too, though a little simple.
The service however was an absolute failure from start to finish.
On arrival, there is no indication as to if you need to wait to be seated or can just take any seat. We had to ask staff and they told us to sit ourselves. Other guests were sitting themselves but not being seen to for long periods of time.
Every stage of the meal included a long wait to be seen. It almost seemed that staff actively tried to avoid being talked to, which just left us wondering if we had been forgotten multiple times.
Towards the end of the cheaper happy hour deal, a lady made sure to come and take our order so we could get another round at 2-4-1 (a very nice touch, probably only saving grace). We ordered but also wanted water due to the heat.
Now anyone who works in hospitality should know that water needs to be given as a priority. Our drinks (including the water) took half an hour to come. My partner was extremely uncomfortable without the water. We probably would have been waiting a lot longer, but when I finally managed to flag someone down and ask to cancel the drinks and just have the bill, they then immediately (and suspiciously) came with them.
The bill then came (however it was after other guests had asked and got there's), only to find the drinks had not been taken off (so we had been forced to have drinks I had cancelled and paid for them) as well as the audacity of a service charge.
During all of these waits, I had not been apologised to for the wait once. Most times I was brushed of briskly as if it were obvious the service should be like this.
Lastly, we sat next to a bush that was festered with bugs, and were finding them all over us after leaving.
A lot of great places to eat in Bath. If you value your time and patience, this is not...

Had a brilliant time celebrating New Years at this fine establishment. We were welcomed with open arms and were provided excellent service by all staff members.
NYE menu was a a set menu, I’ll detail each course below:
French Onion Soup: Delicious, very salty and stocky in flavour (as it should be). I would have liked some croutons and would have preferred the cheese to be on top (as how it is traditionally served) but could not fail it it otherwise.
Duck: Extremly fresh tasting vegetables combined with the zesty zing of the sweet chilli sauce - a harmony of flavour. Duck was cooked well and crumbled easily, making it easy to get all three components in one bite.
Elderflower & Champagne sorbet: Powerful stuff, this pallet cleanser any prior flavours, with an overwhelming taste of elderflower. It accomplished its goal very well. Texturally though- I would have preferred it more icey
Beef Wellington: Exceptional. There are no words for how tasty this dish was. Perfectly pink beef, brilliant crimpled crisp pastry. Oh and the potatoes were melt in your mouth. You could taste the nutmeg and garlic in the white sauce layers. Areas of improvement would be more gravy and a slightly larger layer of mushroom dulce
Deconstructed Black Forest Gateu:
Loved it! Surprisingly light, this was a much needed sweet note in this menu. A highlight was the berry sauce. Complimented the chocolate well.
Cheeseboard: I can’t remember the exact cheeses used, but they were all very nice.
Cocktails: All cocktails were great. A highlight as the caramel espresso martini, which tasted more like a milkshake then a cocktail.
I am extremely impressed with how well the night ran. Everything was perfectly timed. Band/live music was...
Read moreWe came as a group of 8 in the evening. We were seated right next to the musicians, which provided a great atmosphere but was a little too loud so it was difficult to have a conversation. We were told by our waitress that the pizzas would be a 40 minute wait, which was fine, some of our group ordered pizza and others ordered food from the other menu. We asked for it all to be brought together. Whilst we we’re waiting we chatted (loudly to make ourselves heard over the music) We asked for water for the table, (it would be good if this was provided without having to ask) Our food arrived, but the pizzas were about 8 minutes later than the rest of the food which meant others in the party had to start eating so that theirs didn’t get cold. I had ordered the superfood salad with fries. The (large portion) of fries arrived but my salad didn’t, I had to ask for it. The salad was enormous! It tasted really nice however it was supposed to have avocado which I couldn’t find, and also I had asked for goats cheese but it actually came with feta, a minor thing but not what I was expecting. The portion sizes could definitely be smaller as I only managed to eat about half. All the rest of the food looked really nice and everyone enjoyed it, particularly the pizzas. There is very good allergy advice given at the restaurant and a good selection. All in all we had a lovely evening, there is a good ambiance in the restaurant and the waiting staff...
