Extremely poor service, the serving attendant was abrupt and rude. I went in to purchase a few Nutella and Biscoff Nata’s to be specific and wasn’t asked what flavours I wanted I was only asked how many I wanted - the serving attendant then assumed I wanted the traditional ones, which no offence I can get anywhere in London. She then persisted to process the transaction which I thought was the process as it was my first time in Bath as well as at that store, once the payment was made she handed me a box which at that point I said “how do you know which ones I wanted?” - She responded by saying “you didn’t advise” my friend replied and said “you didn’t ask”. There was a lot of back and forth and she continued by saying that she’s processed it already which tbh is not my problem as no one is going to make me pay for something I didn’t ask for - so I made her refund me my money which took a while to do and process what I wanted and not what she assumed I wanted. She was being assisted by this pleasant young Asian girl but this older woman was extremely rude and clearly doesn’t understand what customer service is and needs some serious training. The Nata’s were nice but next time I’ll just got to Bristol instead as the customer service left a bad taste...
Read moreWe weren't even hungry but couldn't resist the vegan offering of custard tarts. My partner had never tried one and I thought I had but this was unlike anything I had ever tried before. Please I beg, the recipe! You can see the gentleman baking in the window and we noted how clean and tidy his set up was. Service was with younger people, sweet and fair. We were going to try one just to know but we're very glad we decided on one each. I have an allergy to gluten so was only going to have a bite but after said bite decided I'd risk the consequences!! Heaven!! The pastry was buttery and still warm with a gooey, luscious filling lightly flavoured, vanilla? Lemon? Cinnamon? All so delicately balanced I couldn't work it out but simply enjoy. I'd recommend to anyone. 11/10 for...
Read moreThis pastel de nata is among the best I’ve had, delivering a delightful balance of textures and flavors. Served at room temperature yet still fresh, the filling is custardy, smooth, and melts effortlessly in your mouth. The sweetness takes center stage, outshining the buttery notes slightly overpowering the overall profile. A hint of cinnamon adds warmth, while the subtly charred surface introduces a smoky depth that elevates each bite. The pastry achieves a near-perfect contrast: a crispy, golden exterior paired with a creamy interior. While the crust was slightly overcooked, resulting in a firmer texture than ideal, the overall experience remains exceptional. This tart stands out for its harmony of flavors and craftsmanship, solidifying its place as one of the finest...
