Reminder to have a Thai Saturday evening! 🍜🍛 On my plate - 1️⃣ Sweetcorn Patties 2️⃣ Rosa’s Red Chicken Curry 3️⃣ Veg Drunken Noodles 4️⃣ Jasmine Steamed Rice So, I don’t feel proud in saying that I haven’t tried red thai curry before this. I always knew that it looks so amazing and might taste well as well. 😄 But stars finally aligned together and I get the chance to have a birthday meal at @Rosa’s Thai restaurant in Bath. 😍 We went for an evening meal, and started the day with some beers and cocktails (which is a must with food, isn’t it?) 😉 We ordered sweetcorn patties to in our starters, and in someway I didn’t have a good start with the meal. Because I felt it had a too strong flavour of lemon grass which absolutely killed the sweetcorn taste for me. But here’s the twist in the tale, I loved the food followed in after it! 🫶❤️ Chicken Red Thai curry had a perfect blend of all the spices, and more than that, as mentioned in the menu, it was one of the spiciest curries as well. Also, the flavour and aroma of coconut in it made me go crazy for it! 😍 My friend really liked Drunken Noodles as well, since I didn’t taste it so couldn’t really say about it. Overall, a fulfilling meal under £50 is worth a try!! 🥳

This is a decent sized restaurant, catering for approximately 35 covers upstairs and another 35 or so downstairs. The staff are very friendly and efficient and there is a good selection of drinks. We had a chicken satay and papaya salad for starters that were well presented and tasty. My papaya salad needed a bit more of a kick to it, and I was able to add a little chilli oil from the various condiments that are provided on the table. For mains, we had the Pad Kra Prow (chilli and basil stir fry) and a red duck and pineapple curry. The duck was nicely cooked and tender, and the red curry sauce was delicious. The stir fry was also very tasty. All in all, this was a nice dining experience. One negative comment I'd have about Rosa's is the subsequent bombardment of emails from the place. In order to reserve a table, you are required to provide your email address, and having done so, you then get several marketing emails from them per day, which becomes both tiresome and unwelcome. After my second attempt of unsubscribing, these emails appear to have stopped.

Mis reviews on this place. The place is very clean and felt very hygienic through the room. The staff were friendly and although some of the items(drinks) could have come earlier the food came in good time. The tom yum ka was nice but had so many lemongrass and had to remove one at a time. Padthai was quite sweet and had onion chutney?? Which was interesting. The problem arose in the service charge and some of our items being mixed up. I have mentioned that I do not want a coriander but it came with and I ordered king prawn but chicken arrived. Now I do not have an allergy and did not wanted my food to go to waste so I decided to not get this changed(the staff offered). However given the mistake and service not been the most caring aspect I thought they would have an incentive to remove the service charge.. I understand every restaurants are struggling but as a customer we are too and it would be nicer for them to infuse the price into items so we know how much we are being charged and not being added 12.5% on top…

PLEASE AVOID ROSA’s BATH!

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Rosa’s this evening. I accidentally placed an order to Rosa’s Bath online and immediately (whilst the payment was being processed), realised my mistake and instantly called the restaurant to inform them of what had happened. I explained I was 100 miles away and couldn’t pick up the food order. They acknowledged my situation and assured me they wouldn’t start cooking the food and would let the kitchen know and because the order couldn’t be cancelled their end, advised me to contact Uber for a refund which we were already on to.

However, when we got through to Uber via Live Chat, they informed me that the restaurant claimed the food had already been prepared, so no refund was possible. Confused, I called the restaurant again. The person who answered (who seemed to be same person I spoke to during my initial call) seemed unsure and didn’t seem to know what to say so to my surprise, passed me on to Chris, I think he said he was the Chef.

Chris claimed the restaurant was quiet and the food in our order (4 dishes) had already been cooked by the time I had initially called Rosa’s - this was hard to believe, as I had called immediately after placing the order. He then went on to describe in detail how quickly he makes a Pad Thai being “less than 4 minutes .. placing the noodles in hot water and the rest of the ingredients in the wok” - explaining the process in a way that felt dismissive and more like he was defending the restaurant’s actions rather than addressing my concerns.

Left with no resolution, I proceeded to end the call by requesting that, if the food had truly been prepared, they at least donate it to someone homeless to avoid food waste, if possible. The lack of empathy and the terrible handling of this situation from both Rosa’s and Uber has left a sour taste—especially as this happened on my youngest daughter’s birthday, which I mentioned to Chris (but met by silence) - a order which should have otherwise been a special treat which my daughter had requested but was marred by the poor handling of the situation.

Mistakes happen, but the lack of clarity, complete lack of customer care, accountability, and understanding is unacceptable. I won’t be visiting or ordering from Rosa’s Bath (next time I am there) or Uber again, will be telling my acquaintances and colleagues in Bath to do the same, and strongly caution others to be wary of their customer service practices.

The only shining light in this situation is having online platforms such as Google to be able to share these experiences, giving the consumer a voice in the hope it makes others aware...

Worst restaurant service in Bath!!!!

We went to Bath for a short break. This restaurant had ruined our experience in Bath.

We went to Rosa's Thai Bath for lunch, with my young family. I was with my wife, Mum, 2 year old child and a 5 months old baby.

We were the second group to come in the restaurant. We were followed by 6 other groups.

Our order was taken by the young slim lady. At the end of taking our order, we were asked how we want for our food to arrive. This is because we ordered some starters as well. We said that we want the food to come altogether please. The lady confirmed this.

After about 10 minutes, our starters arrived. So we waited for everything else to be served, but nothing came.

We observed that the other 5 groups who came after us, had their food served. So we asked one of the waiters how much longer our mains will come. She said that she will ask. After 5 minutes, and a number of coming back and forth passing us, she never informed us how much longer the wait will be!

We then decided to just request our main to be converted to take away. As our children had become very unsettled! This is after waiting for about an hour!

As I am paying the bill, I mentioned to the slim lady that we did specify that we want our food to be brought altogether. She just replied yes. She then became looking annoyed, as I type in my pin on the card machine. After the transaction, she said take the card out. To which I replied PLEASE, as I think manners should be important in customer service.

There we are, left the restaurant very hungry.

Just further observation, there were 3 waiters taking orders and serving food. One short man and another lady. The slim lady appears to be in pain the whole time, the other lady and the man appeared to be flirting to each other all the time. They will talk to the customers, but when they turn their back on the customers (not only us) their smiles will go and will go back to the bar chatting to each other.

The owner of the restaurant should review their CCTV as this...
