Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to express my disappointment with the service that my friend and I received at the Saracens Head in Bath. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely negative due to the poor customer service we received from the bar staff.

Despite being the only customer at the bar, I was completely ignored by the staff member on duty. The barmaid mafe no effort to acknowledge my presence and instead chose to focus on other tasks. This lack of basic customer service skills was incredibly frustrating and made me feel unwelcome in the establishment.

To make matters worse, my friend also experienced a similar issue where she was ignored by the same member of staff who chose to talk to their friends instead of serving her. This type of behavior is unacceptable and reflects very poorly on the Saracens Head.

As paying customers, we expect to receive a certain level of service when visiting a bar or restaurant. Unfortunately, this was not the case at the Saracens Head, and I was left feeling extremely disappointed by the entire experience.

I would like to request that the Saracens Head take steps to improve their customer service standards to ensure that other customers do not have to endure the same negative experience that my friend and I did. I also request an apology from the establishment for the poor treatment we received.

Thank you for taking the time to read my complaint. I hope that the Saracens Head will take this feedback seriously and make the necessary improvements to provide better customer service...

Our first night in Bath to visit the xmas market, so we decided to go to the oldest pub in the town. It had a lovely atmosphere, full of people and friendly staff. We ordered our meals from the menu and waited just under an hour for our shared starter to come. Garlic bread with mushrooms came eventually and it had 2 mushrooms on the plate, covered in peppercorn sauce which had a 'skin' on it where it had been sitting. I asked for my money back. Thinking that our main course would follow shortly, we were then told 15 mins later that they had no meat pies left (we both ordered meat pie & mash). It was apparent from other people in the room that they were also having a bad experience, some had asked for their money back. It seemed that they had problems in the kitchen, no fish, no steaks, only 1 pie, no ham...people were leaving, some had been served up half of their food and had to wait over an hour for anything. We got our money back and I ticked off the General Manager for taking food orders when they couldn't deliver. I would treat with caution if you are considering a meal...

In one word, terrible. On a Monday evening I phoned ahead of arriving explaining I would like a table for 2 for an evening meal. I just wanted to confirm whether I should book and they had availability. I was told the kitchen would close at 9pm so I said I would arrive at 8.30pm. The employee confirmed I did not require a reservation. My wife and I arrived at the pub a couple of minutes after 8.30pm. The barmaid saw us enter and approach the bar where she continued to talk with a local customer. She completely ignored us then disappeared behind the bar for a couple of minutes. Upon her return I asked her for the food menu. She replied that the kitchen was closed. I explained that I had phoned only 30 minutes before and the kitchen was not due to close for another 25 minutes. She lacked customer courtesy and was not at all helpful. Thankfully we left and found another bar around the corner where we had a lovely meal to celebrate my wife and I 24th wedding anniversary with very friendly staff. Not a great attitude by this pub from a very...

Stopped here one night for an easy dinner during our stay in Bath. As far as Greene Kings go this one was clean, spacious and had a certain old timey charm to it. There was a comedy night going in a separate area of the pub during our meal which I’m happy to say was not overly loud and in no way affected our experience. The food was good, very acceptable for a chain pub, it was a warm meal, decently priced, good portion sizes and left us both fairly satisfied. My only complaint would be that the cod was a little tough but again, not the end of the world considering everything I mentioned before. What really stood out during our evening was the service which was top notch. I didn’t catch the chap’s name who served us however he a youngish gentleman with a ponytail and a mighty beard. His charisma and quick wit alongside his enthusiasm towards his job kept me and my fiancée smiling and laughing throughout our visit.

Ordered a Tuna Melt sandwich. After waiting nearly an hour 2 came. I was on my own so questioned why they had made 2. The admittedly sort of apologetic staff member said she would check everything out and refund as I had pointed out that I must have been double charged (£18 for 1 sandwich and a pint of Thatchers?) The other bartender had to be corrected having ordered me 2 pints, that was when I ordered a drink and food and I corrected her myself. Of course no one came back to me to apologise or rectify the error. Oh and PS, the picture shows the dreadful quality of the food when it eventually turned up. Don't bother with this place. I could have whipped this wreck of a sandwich up in 2 minutes at home.

What a fiasco! Service appalling. Ordered 2 pints & 2 dinners. One order was not available to ordered fish & chips instead. Only one dinner delivered, no fish & chips so had to order a second time. The lady who took our order wasn’t bothered and almost simultaneously sat with her own fish & chips leaving us to eat our meals one after the other without apology. Wilted garnish, chips weren’t quite cooked and poorly plated up! Beer was ok but despite only a few customers and numerous staff, nobody could be bothered to clear plates and ask if we wanted another beer or desert so we went elsewhere to carry on eating & drinking. I wouldn’t bother going if you like staff to be friendly. I’ll not go back.
