Had the delightful experience of entering this establish on Saturday lunchtime. I had went in on a whimsy, after seeing a small queue emerging from the small shop.
It was alive in side, with people shouting out order numbers. One could have mistaken it for a fast food joint, the cacophony of numbers. One wouldn't have known their was an entire butchers and deli section as well. These had significantly less noise and foot fall.
I ordered the Roast Beef Sandwich. When my number was shouted out, I grabbed my bag and went, tearing away at it as I walked down Milson Street.
The flavours were raw and powerful. Firstly what hits you is the harsh horseradish, with it's insane tang. Then the raw rocket rears its head, peppering its pepper flavour across my tonged. This sensational warfare is calmed by the rich mayonnaise, wrapping a balm around my tongue.
The roast beef surprisingly tasted sweet, but I suppose it was in contrast to everything else. I would like to say it was the main element, but really I have to give it to the horseradish. Finally the bread added another element of subtle sweetness, and left a warm homely aftertaste.

First time - the Asian staff was friendly, organised and made me felt welcome, I collected the food when my number was called out. Second time - I was served by a shaved hair guy, he told me to âtake the ticket like I told you toâ. Very unpleasant and unwelcoming experience. Third time 28th July mid day - same shaved hair guy, instead of calling out my ticket number when my food is ready, he was more focus on quoting the Bear with other staff. It could have been much better experience if they can make people...
Read moreA high quality butcher that sells sandwiches⌠if that sounds odd think again! This is a brilliant place for lunch on the go. Large soft rolls offered with a choice of meats (an a cheese option, I guess for veggies) all cooked on site and prepared to order. Chunks of hot pork, chicken or beef in a warm roll with salad and dressing (my favourite is the pork), It gets busy from mid morning often with a long wait during lunchtime, but always worth it. They now have added a few benches out side on Green Street so you can sit and eat. If youâre unsure just wander in and take a look at what they serve (itâs all on display)âŚ...
