never have been one to leave reviews, but my cousins and i were visiting bath and have been trying as many coffee shops during our stay, and this one stood out SO much that we decided we had to leave a review. to start… we ordered a dirty chai, a caramel cappuccino, and a honey cinnamon latte. these orders were repeated back to us as we paid, yet you will all be SHOCKED at what we received. we were informed when our drinks were handed to us that that actually did NOT carry caramel or honey, so in turn we did NOT receive the beverages we ordered and paid for. yay !! (-3 stars for lying to our faces smh) on the other hand, every single person working in this establishment could also be walking the vogue runways. divas through and through (positive connotation). yay !! (+1 star for serving face) we were obviously disappointed about two of the drinks being simply NOT what we came for, but ALAS, how could anyone mess up a dirty chai. spoiler alert !! they did !! chai. gagged (negative connotation) espresso. bland (where’s the flavor??). good thing it tasted like we had all received three cups of the roman baths mineral water. (-2 stars for not having the health benefits of the mineral water we were tasting ??) however, this establishment did carry flat lids for iced drinks, so that was fun to walk around with for the two minutes we held our full cups before we found a bin to dump them in. (+1 point for not having the public humiliation of a dome lid)
i don’t even know what else to say. go here for pretty faces but ugly coffee. yay !!

Read moreDisappointed with how my allergy was handled.
On informing our waiter I had a nut allergy I was given a folder with product allergens and was told, more than once, he wouldn't offer any advice on my decision - not something I was seeking, only the information to make the decision - after which he walked away. It was good to be able to see product allergens in a list, but I was shocked to have my allergy treated in such a cold way and be informed multiple times it was 'up to me' without any further direction on where to look for the information I needed - particularly when the folder itself had multiple chapters on food safety. One of the products I was able to find, the other simply wasn't included in the list, despite myself and my partner looking for it multiple times. I understand there is likely protocols in place which our waiter was simply following but I found it a hugely disheartening experience and have no desire to return. Particularly when, after all this, I was given the wrong milk for my tea. The interiors are beautiful, service was prompt and there's no question, my partners coffee was delicious, but the interaction otherwise was handled...
Read moreI want to start by saying that until today my rating for everything would have been 5 stars. I’ve loved Watchouse Bath since I started coming here two months ago and have visited almost every other day. The staff has always been friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, making each visit extremely enjoyable. Unfortunately, today I had a disappointing experience with a new staff member, who I believe is the line manager. In my previous visits, I would head straight upstairs, where the team would help me find a table. This time, the manager stopped me abruptly, questioning what I was doing. When I explained, she responded sarcastically, insisting there was a sign to wait at the entrance, though this had never been mentioned before. Despite my apology, she remained dismissive, which was upsetting. Additionally, I noticed her enforcing the 90-minute table policy, even though there were empty tables and the customer wished to order more. It was disheartening to encounter such a stark contrast to the usual warmth of this place. I hope her approach becomes more in line with the welcoming atmosphere I’ve come to appreciate here from all the...
