We recently hosted our staff Christmas party at Banana Tree Restaurant, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, the team went above and beyond to make the evening special. The vibrant, festive atmosphere perfectly complemented our celebration, setting the tone for a night filled with joy, laughter, and incredible food.
A special shoutout to Hemant from the water staff, who was absolutely amazing throughout the evening. Hemant ensured that our glasses were always full and went out of his way to accommodate every request with a smile. His professionalism and friendly demeanor made everyone in our group feel welcomed and cared for. It’s rare to see such attentiveness, and Hemant truly stood out as a star.
The kitchen staff delivered an extraordinary feast that left everyone at the table raving. Every dish was bursting with flavor, from the rich and aromatic curries to the tender grilled meats and vibrant vegetarian options. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful, and you could taste the care and skill that went into preparing each one. The staff even accommodated our special dietary needs effortlessly, which was much appreciated by our diverse group.
The drink bar staff added a delightful spark to the evening. Their creative and expertly crafted cocktails were a hit, with each drink feeling like a personalized experience. From festive-themed cocktails to refreshing mocktails for non-drinkers, everyone found something they loved. The bartenders were not only skilled but also engaging and passionate, which added an extra layer of enjoyment to the party.
Hosting our Christmas party at Banana Tree was the best decision we made this season. Every staff member, from Hemant to the kitchen and bar teams, contributed to making the evening flawless. If you’re looking for a venue that combines exceptional food, outstanding service, and a festive atmosphere, Banana Tree is the place to go. Thank you for making our celebration so memorable—we’ll...
Read moreBananatree Restaurant Review: A Disappointing Experience
Summary: Our recent dinner at Bananatree was a profoundly disappointing experience, marked by significant delays, poor service, and a complete disregard for our pre-stated preferences. Despite booking a table with a specific request for a quiet area due to having a daughter and pram, our evening was anything but comfortable.
Detailed Experience:
Arrival & Seating: We arrived promptly for our reservation, only to find our table was not ready. We were hastily seated at the first available table, which was clearly not in a quiet area and did not accommodate our request for a pram-friendly spot away from the crowd.
Service & Waiting Times: Service was exceptionally slow and inattentive from the outset. We were not offered a drinks menu and had to resort to finding one on the restaurant's website as no staff were available to assist. After nearly an hour, we had to actively call a server to take our order, receiving a dismissive "Wait a minute" in response. Our food and drinks order was eventually taken by a male server. While drinks arrived relatively quickly, the wait for food was another excruciating hour.
Food Quality: After a total waiting time of approximately two hours for our meal, the food itself was merely "okay." It certainly did not justify the extensive wait, failing to impress or make up for the poor service.
Billing & Service Charge: The male server did apologize for the long wait and offered a 25% discount, which was appreciated. However, the inclusion of an "optional service charge" on the final bill was particularly infuriating, as no one had asked if we wished to leave a tip, and the service received clearly did not warrant one.
Conclusion: Given the disregard for our booking requests, the excessive waiting times, the mediocre food, and the audacity of an unrequested service charge, we will unequivocally not be returning to Bananatree. This experience was far from...
Read moreThe food is absolute trash and an embarrassment to Thai cuisine & my culture. why is this place being marketed as a Thai place inside with all the menus with adverts/ photos saying Thailand when it’s pan-Asian and the site says so. The Thai green curry was watered down, mild in flavour, filled with veg that would never be in a green curry and garnished with coriander and BONITO FLAKES? Flavour was so mild and barely resembling a green curry The serving sides of a general vague ‘Asian’ flavour slaw, Thai crackers and sesame seeds on rice makes no sense. All that on top of a freezer burnt banana leaf for aesthetic - an aesthetic that clearly has no direction. The flavour was BAD. Not just inauthentic, but BAD. Does this restaurant and its 5 star reviewers just live for instagrammable food or have they never taste Thai food or what? Drinks were good and a good price. Gyoza starter was literally frozen gyozas you can buy a whole pack of from the store for less than what they’re charging you for 3. Flavour was mid, literally just frozen gyoza taste. Tell me again why this is a Thai restaurant when you don’t have fish sauce and your chefs dont even know what nam prik pla, Nam pla/fish sauce is? All your food comes in pre-packaged from a central hub then huh? Because there’s no way you’re cooking these dishes and not having that as an ingredient.
0/5 if I could, just another big chain capitalising on a culture’s food they deem trendy and...
