My recent dining experience at Golden City Chinese Restaurant left me absolutely delighted with their delectable offerings. I am thrilled to share my five-star review, highlighting the mouthwatering feast that included Sichuan Spicy Fish, Crispy Pork Chops, and sizzling Iron Plate Beef.

Let's start with the star of the show—the Sichuan Spicy Fish. This dish was a fiery symphony of flavors that had my taste buds dancing with delight. The tender fish fillets were generously coated in a rich and aromatic Sichuan pepper-infused sauce, packing a punch of heat and numbing sensation that I couldn't resist. The combination of spice and freshness made this dish an absolute culinary masterpiece.

Utterly disappointed. Ordered food for delivery and paid over the odds for food that I genuinely threw away. I never throw food away either!

Chicken noodle soup... tasted off and the chicken was not the texture of chicken, it was very soft and spongey, which is strange.

The special fried rice... The rice was a lot like rice that had been left on a hot plate for a while in an all you can eat buffet, the strange cubes of meat tasted ok-ish but the beef was awful, seemed again to be the wrong texture, rubbery sort of stuff with a strange taste. The single king prawn in the whole dish, that tasted alright.

The Singapore chow mein, again, not a particularly nice flavour, not as it should be, noodles were heavily over-cooked and very oily, and the same issues with the meat.

Spicy crispy shredded beef... Again, beef didn't taste right and it was sweet, not spicy.

The thing that really added insult to injury was paying restaurant dining prices for food that was nowhere near the standard of a restaurant, and that was despite a 20% discount at the time of ordering.

The 1/4 chicken appetiser with hoisin sauce, that was ok actually. Couple of bits of bones in the duck that caught me out but I guess that can happen. Taste was fine.

You really need to address the quality of the food being served, it was barely edible and severely over-priced for that standard of the food. If you make improvements, I'll be happy to try again and leave a different opinion, but until then... Definitely won't be...

Overpriced, bland food. Crab soup was salty and gloupy, didn't have a distinct flavour. Ordered pork steamed dumplings but was served prawn dumplings, they did re-do them for me however the pork dumplings were disgusting and contained prawn in anyway! Egg fried rice was ok as was the satay chicken. Crispy duck was way too crispy, overcooked and was more fat than meat. Chips were bland and luke-warm. Tap water also served warm ?? Very strange. No ice in the building so be prpared for a room temprature drink. Overpriced, paid over £2 just for some sweet and sour sauce... was expecting it to be free considering we had already ordered lots of food. Service was shocking, the young girl serving us was very timid and almost seemed scared, super unattentive and spent most of her time sat on her phone, though the manager didn't seem to care. At no point did anybody ask how our food was, not even when we went over to the manager to pay!! All in all, overpriced and very underwhelming. Will not be returning and would...
