This is a review to the attention of the owners/management.
I arrived at Nando's Selly Oak today at 12:00. After waiting a few minutes behind previous clients, the hostess explained that I had to scan a code and book a table before entering (??!!). I had checked prior to visiting (and again after) nowhere obvious on Nando's website is mentioned that you need to prebook a table prior to seating in the restaurant! Once I had booked my table I was then told that I had to wait 15 minutes (when the restaurant was half empty) and was told that it is because the staff has not arrived yet (well it was past 12:00 at that point!). You could very well have a table booking option online (which would not only avoid customers waiting outside but also ensuring that you have the right amount of staff) but there isn't one (and the hostess did not say otherwise). The hostess remained polite despite my frustration but it is still unacceptable to have an A4 paper on the front window (probably 1.5m away from the door where people are actually queuing) and expect that people not only book themself a table and then wait 15 min outside in the cold with a child. I was so pleased when this Nando’s opened near to me so I could pop in or order a takeaway. I’ve been in a couple of times and the service has been ok, but you constantly feel like you have to ask the questions. There’s rarely anyone on the reception and the other staff just look at you like you are in the way. When ordering and picking up a takeaway, numerous times I’ve waited over 15 mins (past my collection time) and have had to ask for a second or third time for my order.
Anyway, my main problem is ordering for delivery. I’ve had it 4 times now and every time I vow: never again! Today I really fancied a good Nando’s... hot flavoured chicken cooked well and juicy. What I actually got.... for the FOURTH time, is cold, dry (see the pic and tell me that’s not dry!!) and over cooked food. Nothing was nice about my meal and I feel like they must just rush the cooking snd leave it standing and clearly don’t care about how it arrives or what the customer thinks. I know I could have put sauces on but I don’t expect my start point to be a slab of chicken that my 6 month old could have cooked.
Simply put, I will never be ordering from Nando’s in Selly Oak again. Bad food. Bad service. Just......
Read moreReally disappointing experience this weekend when visiting with family. When we arrived, we were told there would be a 10-15 minute wait which wasn’t an issue. There were 3 additional people in front of us who were told the same. Looking around there were several tables that needed clearing, which I wouldn’t have thought much of had there not of been 3 senior members of staff standing chatting by the tills. When we were seated the table had been cleared, but not wiped. We were not given a menu, and a check back stick was not placed in the holder on our table, therefore no check was completed. Our mobile connection wasn’t very good so we were unable to order using the QR code, instead had to queue up to place our order. There was only one till open, and there were about 8 people in the queue. We queued for in excess of 30 minutes and although the member of staff apologised it was still incredibly frustrating. We then had to ask where our food was after 35 minutes of waiting.. it had accidentally been cleared on the runners screen and we would have been left with no food had we not have asked where it was.
