The Good Intent — Restaurant in Birmingham

Went here on a Saturday for a birthday event, was throughly disappointed.

Despite being a lovely venue, the staff were so disinterested and stand offish.

We ordered a bottle of wine and they tried to give us incorrect glasses for wine, we then had to find our own wine glasses at tables and ask them to wash them, for them to be handed back wet. We then had to ask them to dry them - which you think would be common sense.

Furthermore we asked for a prosecco glass, to which they handed us a wet one we had to ask them to dry again.

Upon ordering cocktails, we ordered 4 espresso martinis, which would need to be in martini glasses. We had to ask to make sure they had the correct glasses, they only had two - what were they gonna serve the other two in? A pint glass? Who knows.

If it wasn’t a birthday event I simply would’ve left. Would’ve been easier if the whole thing was self serve. Would’ve had less attitude and a better time.

For a bar they really need to invest in glassware. How do you run out of cocktail and wine glasses?

For £12 a cocktail. You expect a decent glass, not double vodka lemonade in a fosters half pint glass.

The Good Intent is an amazing pub with a nice selection of real ales, beers, cocktails and wine. It’s really good value for money and if you drink the real ales that are brewed locally you get a loyalty card where every 9th beer is free! The bar staff are super friendly and clearly love what they do. Not to mention, the good intent is a not for profit with 10% of the proceeds going to charity.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get better they’ve recently started serving Jamaican style food which is so reasonably priced and absolutely delicious! We had the jerk chicken burger and some katsu loaded fries and it was some of the best food we have eaten all year. Thank you Roslyn ❤️

It’s also my boyfriends favourite pub. He wanted me to mention the electronic winch they have to use to get the beer into the sky high...

Found out about the place because of the language exchange meet up group! Friendly welcoming professional staff!speedy service, cosy atmosphere! Lovely decor and it was pleasant to see a classic oriental vase the sign of traditional values! Big credit and special thanks to a tall dark hair bar lady! She is extra nice! Other bar staff also good!I usually drink lots of lime and soda or sometimes cider which are great here! I’m pescatarian and tried out halloumi sandwiches fresh and great value Thank you very much indeed keep up...
