I've decided to write this review because today I've reached my breaking point. Without any desire to leave this review neither being rude or mean, I've just want to let the management know that the staff is absolutely rude, unrespectful and arrogant for enough time now to become a fact. I've been kept on going to 200° because the coffee it's nice (overpriced for the alternative milk though, many place offers the same without extra charge the vegan option) but I'll not getting back there anymore. Today we had clearly a misunderstanding going on while the girl at the cashier asked me and a friend of mine to wait and collect the drinks inside. We just sat outside, even though we thought was a safer way of keeping social distancing in place instead of queuing inside the coffee shop with others several people, so, another girl with shaven head brings us ours drinks outside while in a very rude, aggressive and loud way, she pointed at the fact that they asked us to collect ours drinks inside because they don't provide table service. I just can't see the point of acting this way. She could have told us the same sentence but with respect that should be the base of a normal communication between people especially if neither me or my friend were in anyway rude or whatsoever towards her. It was a clear misunderstanding that should have been handled in a different way but again, she was no more than absolutely unrespectful and very inappropriate. No-one should be treated that way. Moreover when my friend come inside and just ask in a nice way for some sugar she's just throw 7 of them to him in a very bothered and rude way. Cherry on top, wasn't the first time that she was behaving in this way, (shaven girl) she's always doing this and the girl at the cashier also get wrong my order today and several other times before when se gave to me a regular milk instead of oat milk as I asked for and when she replaced it she also was bothered and rude as it was my fault. Is she learning from the shaven head girl? Who knows... I use to be a Manager in a coffee shop, before I resigned, so, I kind of know what I'm talking about. Customer service not received in this place. Actually, simple respect for another human being not received in this place. I saw people treat and speak to dogs in a better way.
Really would like to leave 0 star...
Read more5 years ago: the coffee and service is fantastic
today (2022): from my favourite cafe to an average place. it's so disappointing to see how this place has been ran for the past year or so. the staff apart from one (light haired lass, apologies for not knowing your name) are disinterested, rarely cleaning tables or giving any customer service - for example, after paying they don't tell you it's gone through or anything or say thanks. they blank you and walk away.
I have still continued to visit because I have been a customer for years, but today's service has left me compelled to leave an updated review. unfriendly staff (apart from the lovely one vaguely described earlier), food presented messily (toppings on the outside of sandwiches, no cutlery given with cakes, etc), dirty tables. teapots are not washed properly and if you open then up or even look in the spout you can sometimes see filth/unwashed dirt and other assorted bits. today I noticed a thick coating in the spout of the pot - I poked with a finger and the powdery film stuck to it 😬. I'm aware that in some cases teapots should not be washed, but hygiene is different in a cafe vs the home - consider allergies and contamination. cleanliness used to be fantastic here, so I'm unsure what happened.
In addition, I could understand being cashless during covid but they have decided to stick with it. this leaves a sour taste in my mouth as it's a bit discriminatory - older people tend to only use cash, and homeless people are unwelcome to buy a hot drink with change. it's jarring to have a policy that excludes people when they use inclusive marketing to attract customers, particularly during pride month.
tldr: this place is not the homely place it used to be. the coffee is still great, however it's the only redeeming quality I could ascertain from my last 3 visits. I don't know if there has been a managerial change or what, but I'm mega disappointed and won't be recommending 200...
Read moreAfter a great night out we went for breakfast here. Everything was basically ready to go and I was hungry. Had two of the mushroom cheese melts, a latte and some of the matcha lemonade, which I chose because it had ice n lemons n limes in so looked very refreshing but I'd never actually tried anything matcha at this point. My only gripe was that all the food is just out on the counter. No covering, or display and right close to the front door as you come in but we gave it a fair chance because it still looked lovely...and fresh. We sat down in some comfy chairs at the back of the cafe and our food was bought over when done. The melts were great, so satisfying. I perhaps didn't need two as they were quite filling but I'll be damned if I ever back down from an eating food challenge lol. I took a sip of the latte, which was quite strong but after doing so saw a hair in the drink as well as on the saucer then an eyelash in the drink too. I couldn't finish it but it was a nice latte from the sip I tasted. I left it till we were ready to go. I then drank the matcha lemonade... this was a gift from the God's! I felt any subtle hangover drift from my body with every sip, like when Popeye eats his spinach. Soooooooo refreshing. So wonderful. I didn't have the heart to complain about the latte with everything else being so nice. When we left I took the coffee back with some encouragement from my friend and just let them know. He then offered me a drink to go and I exchanged for another matcha lemonade in a to go cup, the heavenly juice. On route home, I immediately began to Google this wonder drink as I think need it every day going forward. I did like the cafe and would certainly go again. Plus the service was great, everyone was really friendly. Even the lady who made the hot drinks, I hope I...
