Arrived here at 19:20 to sit down and have a drink of coffee before our film started at 20:45. Being as the closing time is 20:30 we thought this was perfect. To our disappointment we were told we could only have our drinks in takeaway cups. I showed the server my blue light card expecting to get my 10% discount. Only to be charged more than the actual price of the 2 drinks. When ordering on the app the drink price for both is £8.75, I was charged £8.80 with my blue light discount. Now I'm not the best at math but surely I should have been charged £7.87 for them. I also don't appreciate the dragging of outside tables into the store an hour before closing. We were not able to have a decent conversation because of the noise. Also the poor lady that was cleaning up was left to lump all of the tables in her own whilst the 2 male members of the team faffed behind the counter. To top it off whilst we were trying to drink our drinks the lady was sweeping up 45 minutes before closing, surely that should be done after closing due to dust particles getting into customers drinks. Read moreI’ve been here quite a lot. The coffee is great, the service is fast and it’s a nice place to go to. However, there was this one time where me and a friend got kicked out just because we had sat there for about five minutes and we hadn’t bought anything. Now, this would be understandable if it was busy, but that day, we were the only people there. Furthermore, me and that friend were teenagers but we were minding our own business and just waiting for our other friends to see a movie. We weren’t making a ruckus, chatting or anything. In fact, we were completely silent and just browsing on our phones. I felt very discriminated against. Did these people kick us out simply because we were teenagers? Did they think we were some druggies about to smoke or vape in their shop just because of how we looked/our age? I searched up whether this was normal and most answers were ‘no’. I went to pay via google pay and it was declined and the girl rudely said it's declined and I needed to use the chip and pin.
I don't use my card that's the whole point of google pay and by the way my bank does not have a limit which I told her but was met with yes you do and you need the card😠.
Well no I didn't as I work for the bank and I know that I didn't need the card!!!! (If you check with your bank as per terms and conditions you will know and the value you spend only varies with the retailer
I simply needed to activate my card to use!!!!
Please train your staff on how to speak to people and not try to be-little your customers in front of other people.
It would be nice to be welcomed and also not be ripped off with the cost of your coffees but I don't think that will happen anytime soon.
