We visited this restaurant on Tuesday 28th July. In terms of current covid guidance, it was good as a first meal out since lockdown. There is only the option to sit inside, but each group was sat as far away from the others as possible and you have to use sanitiser when entering and leaving the building. There is a book where to write your contact details and the waiter was wearing a face mask.

The food was tasty and reasonable. However, we would not recommend eating here if you have a gluten allergy (or perhaps any other allergy). The waiter seemed very knowledgable about what did and did not contain gluten, and explained that items were adaptable. The menu says none of the rice dishes are GF but he said this was wrong. He also explained the pancakes could be made GF but this is not indicated on the menu. We ordered starters mains and sides, all to share, and all to be GF.

My girlfriend was poorly because of this meal that evening and the following day. She emailed the restaurant Wednesday evening using the contact form on their website to explain what had happened, hoping that they would be able to check their processes and ensure this doesn’t happen to others in the future. They have not replied to acknowledge the incident and so we hope this review instead warns people to eat here with caution as we don’t know where the error occurred; whether is it the menu, waiter, chefs, or a combination. Sadly despite enjoying the food we would not eat here again as we don’t trust that the food would be safe to eat, and they didn’t handle the situation well (at all)...

I dined here before the pandemic and I loved the food so was really looking forward to another visit. Unfortunately, it was really really disappointing - it feels like a different restaurant (pretty sure they have a different chef to last time). My husband's main was better out of the two but was unbelieveably salty (and we both like our salt) - like someone emptied a half a bottle of soy sauce into it. My dish was shredded tofu swimming in a huge tub of thin broth, it ironically lacked salt completely or promised peanut sauce, but was instead full of minced raw garlic and dried chillies. The balance of flavour was completely off. We were both starving and had a concert to go to aftwards so we ate what we could but will not be going there again. We ordered one starter, two mains, one portion of rice and a small mineral water and the bill came to £43.95, which is a bit on the steep side - I would not begrudge the money if the food was as good as last time, but with this time it felt like a cynical rip off. Both the menu and the portions are massive, scaling down the number of dishes on offer and the protion sizes and focusing on better execution of them would make for a better experience.

This was my previous review: Beautiful food, full of flavour and nicely presented. Lots of amazing sounding vegan dishes on the menu. We will definitely become regulars here. Highly...

Very poor experience and I didn't even step foot in the restaurant! 🙈 Made a booking about 3 weeks in advance for 5pm on a Sunday to celebrate my anniversary with my partner. I received an email back saying that my booking was pending and that I'd get an email confirming the booking. I received no such email so I rang the restaurant the night before to enquire about the booking. During this call I confirmed the time. I was told not to worry, I'd receive an email on the morning of my booking confirming everything. I did not receive any email. I assumed it was just a technical glitch so thought that it was best to just arrive at the time of our booking. I arrive at the restaurant to find the restaurant didn't open until 5.30pm. This wouldn't have been an issue, however we had other things booked that evening, had we been advised the night before, that they didn't open until 5.30pm we could have at least tried to push our plans back. I then called them and the person I spoke to on the phone basically said that the booking system is automatic and the only person that could change it was the boss and that there was nothing they could do. Heard great things about the food here but was warned about the service. Very disappointed and won't be returning as clearly the warnings...

Suyuan is absolute MAGIC! The food was magnificent (so we forgot to photograph the food!!). The location is central but secluded. The atmosphere and decor is so cute and cosy and authentic. The food was INSANE. There are soooo many vegan options. The food must’ve been mindfully cooked, not too oily or heavy as we ate LOADS (4 starters and 2 mains) and felt on a high and not uncomfortable after. We had the braised aubergine which was so tasty, sweet and sour. Loads of epic special mushroom dishes. Too much to name. But as a committed vegan, I am over the moon to find such a delicious and special vegan Chinese place in town!! The PERFECT place for dates, special events and taking friends and family visiting Bristol. I’ll be returning often now I know!! ♥️ Thank you to the lovely team who looked after us so kindly too.

Recently visited the Suyuan Restaurant after hearing about it from frens. Would like to say !!! I loved the vibes that the restaurant has !!! It’s an absolutely beautiful cozy atmosphere inside the restaurant. Hats off to the amazing staff at the counter and the cook himself. You find yourself in a different place when you are inside the restaurant. The food is just Fab !!! Loved it !!! One reason why costumers come in is the unique taste that the restaurant offers. I would like to sincerely appreciate the hospitality provided by Kiran who served us and helped us making best choices from the menu. And none other than the Master Chef Mr. Tinto who gave us amazing dining experience. We would surely visit again and with frens. Thank you Once again.

Cute, small space with beautiful food! A hidden gem of Bristol. You definitely won't leave without feeling full and delightful. The food is really nice. The sevice is slow but that is because they make everything there and then. Which I didn't mind. The place is small and cosy, but definitely has a good vibe to it, that sticks to the theme. The only thing which was not quite to the theme was the music. There are no booze available, but you can definitely bring your own to the table. So good meals and a drink that you choose to bring and know it's good 👍 There are only vegetarian and vegan options available, but trust me this is not going to be a detrement to you meal. It is delicious!
