The Architect — Restaurant in Bristol

Me and my partner used to go here several times a week for coffee, but unfortunately we no longer want to visit. This is due firstly to a bug infestation that seemed to be of little to no priority to resolve. After this, we decided to give it another go, we arrived at 9.45 and the door was open and the chairs set out. There were no visible opening times so we presumed it was open. A staff member (who was talking to someone who wasn’t staff, indicating further to us it was open) was then rude to us, stating ‘come on in then’ after we had walked past him and far in to the cafe. My partner went to the toilet and whilst I waited outside for her, she was locked in by said member of staff, who watched her struggle to open the doors, and then climb through some stacked chairs to leave through another set of doors. This whole experience was very disappointing for us as we used to be regulars, however we no longer feel comfortable...

The Architect, a coffee shop and cocktail bar is located in a lovely area. The atmosphere is relaxed and chilled out, making it a perfect spot to unwind with friends or enjoy some quiet time. The decor is stylish, and the seating is comfortable.

The selection of wine is good and we had a lovely Rose, however, I must mention that the prices are definitely eye-watering. While the quality of the drinks is impressive, the steep prices have made me decide that I won’t be returning. Miserable, disinterested staff with an attitude. Had a few drinks there yesterday afternoon between 4pm -6pm by the Bristol harbour. The table outside was dirty, with empty glasses and covered in liquid. We had to ask the waiter with long red hair to clean it. Every time I went to the bar, he acted like he was doing me a favour. He clearly shouldn’t be doing that job as he was sooooo miserable. The other young man behind the bar was a bit cocky. Some nice staff who like their job would be good. Nice bar, but I’d think twice about going back due to both staff...
