Alas, I’m not sure I can recommend this place. I stopped in for lunch today; ordered a salad, side order of tzatziki, and a diet coke as well as a coffee. I arrived at 11:50am, ordered, and ate while I was on a conference call (working lunch with others) at 1:20, I was asked if I could finish up and move on, as I was “taking a table”. I was still on my call (1:45 end) so I embarrassingly told my colleagues that I was having to move on.
The funny thing is that directly across from me, there were two ladies in conversation also taking up a table who had been there since before I arrived. They hadn’t been asked to finish up and move on. Nor had the ladies had any more to eat than I did; one of the two of them had a salad and they each had a drink in my time there…the same “amount of stuff” roughly as I had had. And yet when I said “why just me; they haven’t been asked to move on”, the lady who had asked me to move on said “they are on a different table”. Indeed it was a different table, but the amount of custom I’d given was the exact same if not greater, and I was there taking a similar amount of space for less time. I’d spent roughly £22 for lunch, a cold drink and coffee, and was told that I had to leave after 90 minutes when others weren’t.
I had a bad feeling when I chose to go to someplace other than Woodcraft or The Coffee Dispensary. I should have trusted my gut and given my £22 to a cafe who appreciated that custom a bit...
Read moreAfraid I won't be visiting again. I enjoy cake and coffee however, apparently The Find now only sell vegan cakes. No pastries or cruffins or cinnamon buns. Only vegan cakes. I tried a banana pecan and could not finish it. It had a flavour/taste which was unpleasant which I could not recognise. When pushed by the waiter I said it had a fungal taste almost mushroomy. Sorry to say it's not for me. A cake and coffee is a treat for me but this was unpleasant. A shame because I like The Find. By the way the waiter said the fungal taste was the soya used to make the cake. He also said they were only doing vegan cakes because there was no longer a market for normal cakes. They've lost my custom.
After reading response from the owner I have edited my review. Although I am not a fan of vegan cakes I will definitely be back for the other range of cakes which I have sampled before and are delicious. It's a shame the waiter mistakenly told us that you were only doing vegan cakes now. He actually said most people wanted vegan so that was...
Read moreOverall the perfect sport in Cheltenham for brunch! We came here not knowing what to expect apart from reading other reviews & finding an urge to visit! We were not disappointed at all! We both had a large brunch portion (pictured is the smashed avocado meal - no additions). We both then left VERY happy with the quality of the food & the taste of our drinks! The only small negative - which in a way is a positive to how popular the place is - was the wait we had at the bottom of the stairs when we arrived. We did not mind waiting it was just the 'franticness' of the atmosphere as we waited. A lot of running down the stairs & heavy footedness by staff as they moved from the bottom area to the top past us customers waiting. It was not off-putting, I just know from experience in hospitality that this type of vibe by staff can lead to mistakes or avoidable stress. A small negative but nothing to put us off returning in the future at all! Once we sat down & looked at the menu, all was very quickly a distant memory :)
Great job guys,...
