Recent experience at this cafe was not very good, kids food is very overpriced for what you get and not very nice the ham was extremely salty, too much margarine very overpowering and only the equivalent of half a sandwich is what you get for £6.95 this was very disappointing and not child friendly. Crispins club sandwich was very cold as if it was pulled straight from a fridge and the drinks service was very average again overpriced. All in all bad experience, as a local resident I won't be returning.
As I can't reply to a response from my review I have added it on here. Thank you crispins for your reply, I fully disagree with my review being unfair as this was the experience I had when visiting lately and this is my own personal opinion on the service and food i received, id say it is very unfair you stating i gave an unfair review, im sorry it couldn't be a positive one I am just being fully honest! Reviews are there to add experiences! I did refer to the menu when I visited before placing my order and it will be added with this review and as you can see it doesn't actually state the chicken and egg being cold and you so kindly outlined it did state! if anything it stated the chicken being grilled wihich would incline it being freshly cooked under a grill! Therefore i would probably ask you to review your menu instead of assuming I hadn't as a customer already done so myself...

We are regular visitors to Crispins cafe, and this has been my first visit since change of ownership. The most noticeable observation was the lack of customers. The place is usually buzzing, but it was a Sunday lunch visit, and the sun was shining, so people may have other plans.
We ordered our food from the counter which came out within about 15 mins great. I ordered an All day breakfast and my wife a ceasar salad.
Both were OK with the following observations, which we spoke to the manager about. Fried eggs over cooked, so they were hard, no beans even though the menu says it. NOT tomatoes or beans as told by the waitress and manager.
The bread used to be proper cobs or similar, but now just regular square packet bread. The salads on the are no longer mixed leave, and presented nicely but some shredded ice burg with a slice of tomato and cucumber.
Average price for both meals which was as expected as its the same menu.
All I can add to make this place better is, presentation makes a massive difference and use locally sourced fresh produce. It's so much better. Its lost its special touch as...
Read moreNice place for a bite to eat and unwind. I popped in here a few days ago with my wife and daughter and was pleasantly surprised. We found a nice garden area out the back and the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I had the ham and cheese garlic bread with the thick banana milkshake, as it was a very hot day, and it was delicious. My wife had the tuna and cheese garlic bread and the little one had sausage rolls and the both went down a storm. We stayed a good while chatting with friends and we never felt rushed by the owner who was lovely and chatty and great with the kids. I only dock it the one star because the seats outside are the plastic cheap things and I felt any sudden movements and it would give way. Apart from that the food is good quality and I didn’t feel it was overpriced and I would go back again next time I’m in Chichester but I will sit inside on the...
