We had an overall nice experience here for Sunday lunch. We did their Sunday offer menu which was good value and a great selection of dishes. The food was tasty from start to finish and I especially enjoyed the Sag Roll which is a creamy starter dish and was delicious. Their Masala city classic dish was also good but was lacking the "wow" factor and the overwhelming taste was sweet pepper and coconut. By the end of the lunch I felt a bit sick from all the sugar and heavy sauces I ate over the three courses (including the poppadom sauces). We missed some kind of music as it was quiet in the restaurant and could overhear conversations from the next table. Overall it was still a good experience of enjoying different kind of specialties and we even had to take away food in the end as they were large portions.

So to start with we went here because there was good reviews I think 4.9 so for the good stuff first. The waiter who looked after us was Tony. I really couldn't fault him his attention to detail was very good, he was friendly and not to intrusive while we were eating. He gave us a commentary drink after our meal and was very knolegable about the menu. Now the not so good. They brought out our rice and nann bread and then the main meals one of which was wrong they dint take the rice away and replace it with fresh when they finally sorted the main meal out. In addition to this the manager was way way to friendly and kept trying to talk to customers while they were deep in conversation. Food was tasty but I wouldn't say it was anything special.

Impeccable! I love Indian food and with travelling a lot for work I try to visit an Indian restaurant whenever I can. For the most part there food. Masala city however was fantastic! From the atmosphere and greeting when walking in to the food and service it was impeccable. You can tell it is managed well with customer service coming first. I even witnessed the manager commend his staff member when taking an order by memory perfectly. The waiter smiled from ear to ear! Good management! Then the food. Well the presentation was fantastic and the flavour brilliant. I have never had so much lamb in my dish. All I can say is try it and you won’t be dissatisfied. There is a pay and display car park at the rear but free from 8pm

After being seated in the restaurant we waited for staff to come and take our orders. Just 2 of us. Drinks came, folliwed by 4x papadoms and chutney dishes then food. I had a chicken korma pilue rice and plain nan and chips My friend had the meat plater spitroast My korma was very watery and liquid like. And very hot unusually hot. Toovhotctovest at all for a while. Think it may have been reheated in microwave possibly. It was all the food. But my friends was not. The first piece of his meat was black alot of it and crispy couldn't cut it and very boney. There was a long sausage looking piece which was also very black as in like charcoal. He eat as much as could.2 other pieces he left as didn't want with beu g difficult to eat. I was full up pretty quick. We were heard saying about leaving g a trip advisor, to which end a manager came over and asked if everything was OK. We both made comments, but were ignored. We then said to the waiter, how it wasn't very nice and showed the reasons why.

Then the manager near the end came over only on e we had paid, as i had asked to solutions the bill the waiter looked at me, so thought this was heard when we waited to pay the rest, he said that's it all done. We looked at him and stated what he asked, he must have told his manager for him to come over He asked again all ok we told him we were unhappy and reasons why as a whole..... Not one sorry from any of them& then the owner / manager, said let us get you a replacement. We said no 3x and would rather not take it, as will be same dishes& just didn't want it, i already put mu korma in a take home pot. I hadn't eaten much in the restaurant. They insisted we take home another dish and would get me another korma. Onto of the one I'm already taking home, no ricecto even go with it& the meat dish for my friend We couldn't believe the cheek of it. Not one apology and fobbed of by new dished we declined 3x to take. And did not want or ask for. Rather than even offer any discount or any other thing to help. We were recommended here by 2 people.

No cider drinks just lager. Oh and the bill of £75 35 was charging even for chutneys and papadoms and was a whopping £15 for korma sauce only £20 for the meat dishes.=£35 Meaning £40 for chips, nan bread 1x1 pint lager1x half lager chutney and 4xpapadoms and pilu rice

No sorry just here being almost last customers in, and closing, so food woukd only been wasted anyway for bins. I think the too hot to eat or touch maybe warmed up to hot. No extras. Just a let down after 2 people recommended it.

Music was very non ambient and too repetitive. Didn't see toilets upstairs. So 70 year old with bad knees had to go up and down to use bathrooms. Not a happy customer ...

I've tried to order a takeaway from Masala City this evening and have been thoroughly disappointed. I ordered using their online web portal which was perhaps a mistake in hindsight as you'll see, but the interface was fast and easy to use and I quickly placed my order at half 7. An hour later and the food had not arrived yet, which for a busy Saturday night is not unusual I'm sure, but thought I would just check to see where it was, and was assured by them that it was out for delivery and would be with me in a few minutes. Fast forward 30 minutes and the food still had not arrived, I rung again to ask about this, and was told that the online ordering system hadn't been working that evening. The person on the end of the phone profusely apologised and told me the food would be ready and delivered in 20 to 25 minutes. Again, fast forward 35 minutes later and the food had not arrived. I tried to ask specific questions about where the food actually was, e.g. in the van being delivered or not, but no such details were forthcoming, and after being apologised so much without being able to get a word in edgeways, I decided it was best to ask for a refund. After some wrangling on the phone, including my now favourite line "You don't want to do that Sir", he put the phone down to talk to his manager. After a minute he came back and finally key'd in my refund to my card. Next time I'll pay in cash at the door with these places to remove any worry about receiving card refunds.

What makes this all the more disappointing is that my favourite curry takeout in Chi only closed down recently (Green Chilli), and I have been trying the all the local curry houses. All are more expensive and poorer quality it seems, I will have to give up ordering takeout and save my...

Visited here for a Mother's Day lunchtime meal after booking online. Upon arrival we were shown to a lovely seating area and our waiter was incredibly friendly and patient whilst we chose our food orders and drinks. The manager also checked in on us several times throughout our stay to make sure everything was ok. We eventually opted for the lunch menu on this occasion whereby you have the option of a 2 course or 3 course menu for a fixed price, however some of the options do have an additional price attached which are made clear on the menu cards. Our starter options were absolutely fantastic and very delicious. We had several poppadoms to get through as well and made full use of the chutney tray! Our main courses were just as nice and well presented dishes that tasted just as good as they looked! After finishing main meals off and having some very (nearly full stomachs) we decided to go for desserts with my other half and our young Son opting for sticky toffee puddings and myself going for a Lemon ice cream sorbet that comes in a large lemon with the top sliced off. Overall the food was fantastic and the cleanliness of the restaurant is second to none. Very clean toilet facilities too. My partner thoroughly enjoyed her Mother's Day meal and we will definitely be coming back - well done...
