Shanghai Nightclub — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

Was one of the worst clubbing experience I ever had. The club was poorly organised, overcrowded and dirty. We had to wait in the queue at the entrance and we've paid for qjump, people at the other line without booked table were getting before us. We paid for a booth in the VIP room, which wasn't a booth at all. Just 3 small tables with small pouffe stools. I paid for 1.75l of Ciroc and we got Belvedere instead without any explanation or heads up. The bouncer was letting random people without passes to VIP room. It was overcrowded, to the point that it was impossible to pass through. Our table was next to exit door and crew members were going back and forth with dirty cups and buckets, sometimes over our heads because there was no room for them to do it otherwise. On the top of that, tables were so close to each other that it made it even more difficult. Random people were constantly seating on our table and drinking our drinks, we've spent half of the night just arguing with them. The VIP was do overcrowded that we had to wait in the queue just to get back upstairs even tho we had passes which is a joke. One of my friends was pushed by a bouncer when we was trying to get back to the club. And there was no clear reason why he wouldn't let him back inside.The plastic cups weren't cleaned properly and we had to keep asking to replace them with clean ones.The restroom was dirty and full of empty cups and it seemed noone was cleaning them through out the night. The only good thing was the staff, friendly and helpful and the music was enjoyable. Not worth the money, we were extremely disappointed and will not...

What a terrible place. Managed to get assaulted here through no fault of my own on the 19th/20th March this year, but the bouncer wouldn't intervene even though he was only a few feet away. It was right by a very busy bar too. Says a lot about him and some of the customers here. Then, after I'd eventually told them what had happened, the other bouncer they have there basically made it clear that they didn't want me to hang around there looking as I did at the time, saying I should I get a taxi. Naturally nobody offered to pay for it... I went to the police as soon as I left and to be fair a staff member did come forward as an eyewitness. However, this later seemed to be withdrawn and the CCTV was apparently lost due to a "corrupted USB". I can only assume that this was done lest the club's pristine reputation be damaged. They seemed to be aware of who was responsible. Shanghai certainly kicked up a fuss when one of their bouncers was attacked a few years ago. It's a shame this concern doesn't extend to their customers. And besides, there are far better and cheaper places to go in...

3 star was for club experience, would have given 5 star but getting into the club was a bit stressful. I had booked a table which presumably comes with entry and queue jump. When I got to the entrance, I spoke to the security that i already booked a table, but I was told to go and join the queue. After about 30mins in the cold, i got to ticket desk and the cashier saw my name on the reservation list but he wouldn't process me to go in because the lady that was supposed to take me to my table was not available. I had to wait outside for another 15mins. Finally she came, confirmed my name on the list and took me inside and to my table. Some persons were already on the table and they were excused, table cleared but not wiped clean. My drinks were served on a dirty table but didn't bother me. Every other things was kool from thereof.
