Food ordered: T bone steak (steak out style) Filet mignon (Western style) Mash potato Fries Buffalo wings
This review is going to be one which urges immediate intervention and improvement on the owners part, the experience is simply not good enough. Being one of two surviving steakhouses in coventry city centre I expected the pedigree to be much higher than it was. Service was run of the mill, not rude in any manner but not high quality - the server did not even ask how we would like the steak cooked. As he ran away, I had to throw the assertion at him.
The wings were not fresh. From the frozen bag to the fryer, then dooked in standard supermarket sauces and served plainly without the addition of herbs or greenery. Would not buy again until improvements are made.
The Filet mignon - poised for the fan favourite that is 'medium' - came to be a horrifically uneven rare and overcooked depending on what angle you came at the steak. The taste was 7/10 but when coupled with the lacklustre peppercorn sauce this quickly slumped to a 5/10. The sauce was too thick, likeness of a curry sauce with not many peppercorns with such resistive permeability that taste can't sliver through. Would recommend a whole revamp to the offering.
Pause here - the location of Steakhouse is fantastic. The breathability in seating is a stark difference to the overcrowded opium den that your usual steakhouse can be. The move to have a bespoke dessert parlour would be a welcome one - if the offering was again improved (more on this later). The point is there is potential to 'Steakout', but it has not been fully realised. Would love to come back when these changes are met. So this isn't a bleak review it's again, an urge for improvement.
The t bone was thin, dry, not in the boundary of 'medium' scalding once again, and somehow the 'steakhouse' version turned out to be completely tasteless! Reaching for some liquid to quench this salivary drought you'd arrive at the peppercorn sludge ill-equipped to quench nor compliment the dry t bone.
Sided with a tasteless Mash, just like mum makes... when she makes it on the hob... After pouring in the sachet of Aldi's instant Mash. Not to confuse with the buttery soft Nandos Mash this was more a Sunpat's crunchy peanut butter texture where you might stumble across something solid and grainy every so often. Needed more butter.
This is a plead to the steakout team. Eagerly awaiting...

I have been going to this branch around 3 years along with family and friends and the service has been great until, the 31st of March 2022. We were seated at around of 9:00 PM then around 9:45/9:50 PM, I then requested a member of staff for an update of our food, we were then told that our food was coming up now in 2 minutes and he pointed at the food. Which was then given out to other tables, (IF THAT WAS OUR FOOD THE CUSTOMERS DIDNT RECIVE THE RIGHT ORDER). The same staff member approached us and disclosed that there have been technical difficulties and our food would start getting made now. We could not wait another 30 minutes as I had uni work to do and my cousin has work at 6:00 AM. We then requested the manger, the manger came and started to speak to my cousin which she had no respect or decency to allow my cousin voice our concerns, and she repeatedly talked over him. Then when he said your not allowing me to talk she simply diverted the conversation and refused to talk to him and has directed the conversation to me. I have then tried to explain we cannot wait any longer but she was being disrespectful and completely not trying to rectify the situation. Teresa has then walked off and walked back with her purse to then to only stop every one eating their food to focus the attention on her, and she has stated she is giving us £10 EACH for McDonald’s drive thru from her own money which in return I have never been so embarrassed in my life and the whole shop was looking at me, the walk to the exit felt like a walk of shame. Also I feel as though Teresa has been stereotyping us since the moment we walked in from not letting us pick our tables and it wasn’t very busy also when...
Read moreJust on the way back home from probably our worst night out ever. Took half an hour for our drinks (a coke and fruit juice) to come. Ended up asking the waitress if we could get our drinks and she wandered off to make them. No apology or acknowledgment when she finally brought them over.
Shortly after our sides were delivered and our waitress advised that the mains would follow. We never saw her again.
Mains were delivered about 5 minutes later.
Husband ordered a Porterhouse and was disappointed with the cut of meat. It was tough, thin and anaemic in colour. I ordered the Chilli Prawns knowing that they would be spicy but the food was nuclear. I left a pile of chilli's the size of an apple on my plate!
The Mac and Cheese and coleslaw sides were the highlight of the evening. In part because they helped to neutralise the spice.
The Manager came over to ask how our meal had been and could tell we hadn't enjoyed it. All credit to her she offered iced water, a free milkshake and took my meal off the bill completely. She did mention that I wasn't the first one to complain about the dish which was beyond frustrating.
Suggest the owners reduce the chillies by about 80% or put a spice warning on the menu. If this was to have a chilli warning I would suggest a 5! In context I typically have a Madras or Jalfrezi if out for a curry.
I understand that this is a new business venture and genuinely wish them well but turn down the heat.. and the arrogance in the kitchen.
We won't be giving it...
