What a sad place this is! It is no wonder they have sited it so far from people with any semblance of taste. The staff are unkempt, the place is run-down and the service is poor. Still using the Covid-app, if only to avoid interaction with the general public, we have been in lockdown for over 18months, some places shouldn't worry about ever opening again and close whilst there is an opportunity to disappear without any trace, especially as they wouldn't be missed! The architecture is one of reused steel portacabins, the type seen on far Eastern transport container ships. When is this ship returning, can they take there rusty cabins with them this time. I've used them myself as modular modern day hotels with much respect and a relatively imaginative design solution but have always retained a level of maintenance to retain their 'make-shift' steel imagery with some modicum of flare. This place is in need of a full refurbishment to give it some decency and make it somewhere anybody, other than hungry seagulls would want to visit. This bar has reopened this month in the brand new 'Sea-Lanes' development. This is a far better bar than the original. Full of visitors having fun along the beach, a joy to experience. We didn't eat but what I saw being served looked appetizing and a million miles from the last time I visited. The staff were all helpful and happy to give advice on drinks, food and the area. Everyone seemed in a good place for the new Sea-Lanes site which also has a swimming pool which anyone can visit for a price but looked like great fun. Lots of other activities such as mini-golf for the whole family plus what looks like private meeting rooms for hire which is a great idea a d should have been invested in originally. Only been open three weeks and already being enjoyed by many. The 28° warm weather is an obvious plus for the site, hopefully the weather will remain for the...
Read moreHot tip - go for drinks - not for food , coffee etc. Tried the coffee... was hilariously bad. A cappucino was brown water with no foam whatsoever and almost like a cup of tea. Ordinarily i'd ask for a coffee to be remade - but at that level I had no hope so just left it and laughed.
Protein smoothie just tasted like a bit of banana with milk - skimped on all the ingredients Understand the need to make good profits but really that's taking the p!
Food was pretty basic - though burgers did look decent.
Basically awesome venue on the beach, nice vibe. But just don't get coffee or anything except soft drinks/alcohol!
Main reason I wouldn't go back is the way you order - it might as well be done by robots. You have to faff around on your phone - very disconnecting for a place to socialize.
When stuff is brought to you it's in silence pretty much - so no real interaction with staff. This is even post covid-restrictions.
So set your sights on a beer and a nice view and you'll do...
Read moreThe selection of non-alcoholic drinks leaves something to be desired - especially in Brighton, in 2025, with the yoga/sauna next door - why is there only: Non-alcohol lager (lucky saint) Guinness (stout) Cherry stout
… and that’s it. Lots of people don’t like lager and stout. These options do not cater to people - I suggest non alcohol spirit eg captain morgan rum, non-alcohol cider eg kopparberg cans, belvoir non alcohol cocktails eg mojito, non alcoholic ale eg doombar amber ale, weissbeer eg Erdinger bottles, and a FEW ipa options (some hoppy, some sour) - there are so many companies which make low alcohol which can be in cans. Even brewdog alcohol-free IPA cans would be something, or the laine Brewhouse cans. The choice nowadays is huge in supermarkets and other bars in Brighton, and Bison beer is years behind. Please upgrade your selection to be more inclusive of those who are sober or wish to have low alcohol...
