Cup of Joe — Restaurant in England

I’m so sorry but this has to be the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. We came for breakfast. Four of us. We waited ages to be served, we waited ages for our coffees. The cook was on the phone trying to sort out online payment while we waited for our 2 full English breakfast £10 each and 2 full vegan breakfast £9 each. OMG I have never been served anything like it. To get a cold breakfast that was burnt to black after our coffee’s had gone cold was an experience that I couldn’t process. We just needed to go. I’m not sure what I felt but I couldn’t even begin to find words. I shut my mouth and paid the £51 bill and hoped that somehow life would give me something back. I gave a £2 tip to the young person who waited on us (slowly) but never any blame cast to him. A man who worked alongside in the antique/thrift area ended up bringing our food (no hand-washing at all) I’m a tad concerned about food safety. The bacon was black, seriously. Unusually I chose to have vegetarian breakfast option and person with me had eggs royale. Standard choice of bread included soda bread in the options which is a good thing. That said I got one small slice with my breakfast and she had two slices with her eggs. The eggs royale was well done with egg on one and salmon on the other avoiding any yucky intermingling. Service was friendly and efficient and the food was well cooked. The decor is a bit of a mish mash and the venue also sells recycled and upcycled clothes. All in all quite a bohemian and laid back atmosphere and decent food prepared with some attention to detail and far from clumsily, using what tasted like decent ingredients. Fair play to them. Worst veggie breakfast i have ever tasted Slimey scrambled eggs, watery spinach 2 thin slices of a potato that had a horrible nasty taste mushroom had a strange taste as well, the beans were ok but were sitting in the water on my plate. The sourdough bread was cold and very hard.
