Dukes Cafe Bar — Restaurant in England

Having been to Dukes a few times before I was looking forward to a nice lunch, however this did not turn out to be the case…. I firstly asked for the Meat Pie with chunky chips but they didn’t have this in so was advised “if you want a traditional meal try the Lamb, Mash and Veg”. I ordered this but was a bit taken aback when the food came out….. Lamb, Mash and VEG consisted of Lamb, Mash and GARDEN PEAS. When I questioned the waiter as to where the veg was his reply was “Arnt peas a veg” and stood staring at me with a vacant expression on his face. I agree peas are a veg but would of liked a bit more information when ordering this that in Dukes when you order veg you only get GARDEN PEAS. If I had have known this from the start I would not of paid £8.95 for this and would have gone for the £5.50 Fish, Chips and VEG (Peas) This would not of bothered me so much but the attitude of the waiter when I asked the question was unhelpful and not bothered. Needless to say I won’t be returning...

They simply refused to serve me and my friend food and soft drinks because we didn't have IDs!

We arrived there to have lunch, talked to the barman, got seats, looked at the menu but when I went to order, the same barman that told me about the service and everything said "they don't serve anything without IDs" not even food and plain water. Visited for first time just after opening hours, so place had a few people in but not many which meant getting served and recieving my food in no time at all, service was professional and friendly and my English breakfast and cappuccino were exellent will go again for a treat...
