Last time my husband and I had come to Caspar's was a few years ago in 2019, when their internal layout and menu were different. I posted a positive review of Caspar's back then, and since then, we have been asked to come back; specifically to try their all you can eat breakfast that they're newly introducing to their menu. Upon entering and being greeted by the staff behind the counter, we were told to sit down anywhere at a table nearby, so we walked over to the seating area to the corner (behind us). With how the tables are arranged, 2 people were sitting back to back right in the entryway to walk in and it feels a bit cramped, honestly having to squeeze between chairs and people. 5 tables with 23+ chairs and a long "bar" table along the window side... It's a small room meant to sit a lot of people (? which doesn't feel right in itself as it feels like it should comfortably sit maybe anywhere from 10-15 people maximum) and thus, makes the environment feel really claustrophobic. We arrived at around 11:45-11:50am and it didn't seem to be a too busy time. If this was any busier though, it would be too busy to be comfortable to want to sit in and eat! (And as someone who suffers with anxiety, this would be a space I wouldn't want to be in if it was any more packed with people)! -------- My husband and I were given our tea and coffee and while we sat drinking them we waited to be handed our dishes and bits [plates, cutlery].... Coffee was good, tea (loose leaf Earl Grey) was good.. Something I took note of was the fact that it's not blatantly posted or mentioned anywhere about the dishes situation; so my husband asked them to bring out plates to us so we could get food from the all you can eat area. The food itself was overall good, but could have also been better... The beans and mushrooms were kept lukewarm under the lamps, without lids.... We were asked by the waitress/busser (in the light colored hoodie & joggers) within 10 mins of sitting down if we wanted more coffee or tea, but after that one time, were not asked again. **Neither my partner nor I noticed any signs pointing to the toilets, so that's something you'd need to directly ask the staff about, just so you know! (Toilets are in the back)** We finished the all you can eat breakfast after 2 plates. They had both whole-wheat and white toast offered, which was great! They also offered black pudding, which my husband said was cooked well - was neither cooked too long nor undercooked, was just right! When I had gotten up to get my 2nd plate of food from the all you can eat area, they had run out of crispy bacon which I had asked a member of staff about (if they were going to be making more) and he said they were, and that they'd let me know once it was out. I wasn't ever told that it had come out or had been made, unfortunately, so I finished my plate without that. Separately from the all you can eat breakfast: We ordered a chocolate strawberries sundae to share, which was delicious and exceptional!! Their gelato is nothing short of amazing, in all aspects! Flavour, consistency, presentation, and assembly. 10/10 would absolutely come back solely for just their gelato alone. --- Overall, I'd give this newly remodeled Caspar's a 3 out of 5 stars / a 7 out of 10 / or 75% out of 100%. Good food, good service, but could be better and service from the staff could be far more prompt than it currently is. Thank you for the tasty food today CASPAR, and we hope to come back again in future to see further progress and betterment for your business! We love to support local businesses and want to see you to flourish for many years to come. xxx

Food was ok until I had to pull a long strand of hair from my waffle. upon calling up, no refund, discount or any sort of compensation was offered. Been a regular customer a while now however that may change now from this experience.

The image of the blue berry crepe on the wall showed real berries but when it came it was canned berries which were really sweet. Also the cappacino that I ordered came warm so when the crepes came it was cold.

I feel kinda bad giving these guys a bad review because service-wise they were spot on. So I ordered a tuna melt baguette & a Smoked Salmon / Cream Cheese bap (the main event). First of all, the tuna melt - it was average - better was definitely possible but it wasn't complaint-worthy.. they also provided an unexpected portion of coleslaw with it.. which was nice.. I guess.. So the Smoked Salmon bap.. well first of all it was accompanied by an (again) unexpected portion of fries.. which were decent tbf.. but let's be real.. they're just fries. The bap itself.. well presented.. good standard of bread.. bit of salad leaf on there (top bobbins), some cream cheese.. yes please! But the salmon.... 😐 I gotta be real - the smoked salmon was DEAD! The main ingredient in a relatively rare takeaway treat was severely lacking in quality.. & you cld taste it (or not taste it, depending on your perspective).. I wld have loved to have given these guys a good review, but man's gotta be true.. in all honesty - a real disappointment.. but I wish you man all the best & hope you're able to source some much better quality smoked salmon...

So disappointed with my order, if I could rate zero stars I would which is a shame since my eat in experience within the same week was lovely. First of all, the woman on the passed over the wrong address even though I confirmed with her multiple times my full and correct address asking her to repeat it to me. By the time the delivery driver found my house the ice cream was almost completely melted which didn’t really matter as it wouldn’t have got eaten anyway since they sent the wrong flavours. Just when we thought it couldn’t get worse the berrylicious waffle was vile, advertised on multiple sites (just eat, Uber eats and their own ordering site) as containing fresh fruit yet I was presented with warmed, purĆ©ed, sour and obviously canned fruit. The waffle it’s self tasted more like a Yorkshire pudding than any sweet waffle. Utterly disappointed with the experience from start to end, rang up to complain but no answer - shock, probably rushed the last orders through without a care...
