Franco Manca Brighton — Restaurant in Great Britain

What a shame that the only thing that let this restaurant down was the rude staff!! The food was absolutely lovely and one lady serving was pleasant enough, but the two men on shift yesterday were terrible! We arrived around 3pm and asked for a table for 6. The restaurant was not at capacity and had two large tables that just needed clearing. The waiter told us it would be a 10-15 minute wait. We decided to hang on as we could see it was only a table that needed clearing. Sure enough, the table was available much sooner but by this time, my friend had gone to the shop to get a drink for her youngest child who was incredibly thirsty. That could have been avoided had we been told a more realistic wait time such as five minutes! It certainly felt as though they didn’t want our custom.

A second waiter came to take our order. He was inpatient and kept stamping his feet as we tried to work out what the children wanted to eat. At one point, my friend asked to make a small amendment to something she had ordered and he literally rolled his eyes! He didn’t even ask me what I wanted to drink so I ended up drinking tap water which we’d asked for to share for the whole table. To be honest, by this point I didn’t even want to call him back over and asked for a drink for myself as he had already been so rude. Had it not been for us having several very hungry children who needed to eat, we would have walked out and taken our business elsewhere.

When we paid the bill, we decided not to tip as we normally would, however the money was taken and they never returned the change (albeit small chance) and just assumed it was for them!

Don't Pick the Veg Salad On Menu day light . Robbery ..

My daughter picked this restaurant for Lunch due to its amazing Pizzas , it was highly recommended . However very disappointing on the menu was the Vegetable salad , incorperating Roasted Pumpkin and Goats cheese I think ...... it was only a couple of days ago and can't even remember it , that's how disappointing it was . The x 2 Pizzas arrived looked amazing and the price excellent , salad arrived to the table . Ingredients

Outer English lettuce leafs ..... pumpkin cut in small dice .. 7 pieces Goats cheese 5 gram seeds a sprinkle 3 quarters of one tinned artichokes cut into three

I was going to send it back but due to my daughter to whom is a Uni , I just couldn't bare her embarrassment . The bowl consisted of 90% letteuce (1 Type ) it was almost as if the chef did not want to use his mise-en Place for the day ahead . We also noticed the chef stored the salad leafs and to the salad bits and bobs on his work shelf , surely this should hold a left out in room temp , before turning off .

Anyway the shameful salad was 7.50 . Pizzas were 6 .50 its just a day light robbery The chef needs to go back to table and recalculate his cross profit margins .

Lovely Franco Manca branch with welcoming staff and beautiful restaurant decor.

We chose to visit the Brighton restaurant whilst on holiday and were delighted with the opening hours and menu offering. With specials and new dishes available to try, we felt inspired and enjoyed our visit. The ambience of the restaurant was enjoyable and the staff were friendly.

Of the two pizzas we ordered, they were both hot and fresh and the flavour was excellent. The service was very quick however I cannot give the restaurant five stars, owing to two reasons.

Firstly the tables were too squashed together, at the end of our meal someone sat at the table adjacent to us and it physically prevented me from getting up (we were seated in the corner). Additionally, we were offered dips, I chose two however they were added to the bill.

We noticed various sauces on the menu but if you’re going to suggestive sell, it is most suitable to at point of offering, mention the cost. I’ve very rarely visited a restaurant which has offered condiments and then added them to the bill, nevertheless they were tasty and our meal was good.
