KFC Brighton - Western Road — Restaurant in England

I went into the store whilst working with one of the people I care, for while my service user was ordering her lunch the worker taking the order was very abrupt and rude cutting her off during her sentences after she had made her order it was my turn. I made my order just fine with no issue but I did have to wait a long time for my order when asking why there was a hold up the worker became agitated telling me he Doesn’t know upon receiving my order I was missing nearly half my meal so when asking the same worker where my order was and why some was missing he said he couldn’t give it to me as i “didn’t pay for it” upon showing him the receipt he still denied me my order so I have asked if I can have my money back when the worker replies saying “no you can’t have your money back” when I asked why he got angry and rude asking me to leave when I asked for the manager he said he is the floor manager so I asked for the rest of the food and someone else on his team apologised for him and handed me the rest of the food, when eating the food myself and my service user noticed the food tasted old and reheated almost like someone had put bleach in the food overall I’m never coming back to this place again and I really hope other people do not the staff were rude and the food was awful the experience...

I recently visited this branch on 12/6/23. This is review is about the 'lack' of food quality and expectation.

The chicken coating and overall taste had completely NO resemblance to the 'distinctive' KFC taste to what I have 'always' experienced it other branches. It was bland with no spice mix and very dark in colour with an overwhelming oily/fatty taste.

This can only be down to 3 reasons: 1- It was not cooked in the company recommended oil ie low-linolenic soybean oil etc, used in the high pressure fryer. 2- The coating ingredients were 'substandard / old or not used. 3 - The oil used was old.

I believe that the locals who use this branch on a regular basis may not notice this obvious substandard taste in the product being served (due to it being their local) and the 'non-locals/ tourist' in the main, would not bother to complain or review it, for the reason that they will probably never visit the branch again anyway. I think it is something that this branch and it's satellite/area management need to investigate and resolve because it just doesn't taste like the internationally...

If you enjoy having the staff standing with their back to you while you stand there forever, not even acnowleging that you are there, never knowing how much longer you are going to have to stand there, then go to this one. This store used to be a good one but it's been too many times now, way too many times that I am left standing there like I don't exist, while the staff stand still, chatting away with their backs turned to you, never a 'sorry sir I will be just a minuite and il be with you' no, nothing. Too many times I stand there invisible for way over 5 minuites and end up walking out and going to McDonald's where you get served pretty much straight away. This has happened at least 5 times for me this year alone, and more last year. It's like the staff are trained to ignore you completely, like you don't exist. I used to work in KFC 20 years ago and it was never like that. We had good customer service back then.
