I’ve been meaning to write this review for a while. We first stumbled across Pamukkale Restaurant during the first May Bank Holiday weekend last year (2024) while visiting Brighton from London for the Fringe Festival. And what a discovery it was! Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but the warmth and hospitality from the staff left a lasting impression. Later that year, my husband and I were lucky enough to travel around Türkiye, including Istanbul, and tried a wide range of regional specialities. Yet, nothing came close to the Lamb Sarma Beyti we had at Pamukkale, seriously it’s that good! So much so, that I insisted we came back again this year (2025) just for that dish, and it’s now officially become my favourite Turkish meal. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and kind again. I made an effort to speak a little Turkish, and they absolutely lit up, we were showered with kindness, laughter and generosity, from extra treats throughout the night to being invited back for breakfast the next morning! That breakfast was just as outstanding too: very generous, fresh, and excellent value for money (even though it was offered to us on the house). Even in 2025, as an interracial couple, we don’t always get a consistent (or warm) reception in every place we visit, so it was especially refreshing to be somewhere where they couldn’t care less and the only thing that seemed to matter was that we were happy and well-fed. The warmth felt truly genuine. Massive thanks to the lovely team, especially Ali, Cahit, and Mussel (yes I remember your names but apologies if I’ve misspelt any of them!). Thank you for making our Brighton visits so memorable. Pamukkale is now a must-stop EVERY TIME we’re in Brighton. It’s official. It’s...
Read moreWalked into this restaurant during a visit to see our son in Brighton. From the outside it looked pleasant and welcoming and seemed to less busy than others down the High Street. That was infact our red flag!! We weren't greeted by the waiter on arrival so seated ourselves. Eventually given menus but still no greeting. After 20mins seated and not even a drink order taken, and only two other tables occupied but guests not eating, we tried to get a waiters attention. We were completely ignored and instead the 2 waiters decided to lay tables and talk to guests on another table who were leaving after their meal and clearly looked from the same culture. The rest of the staff were standing chatting in an open plan kitchen clearly disinterested in guests too. Clearly not rushed of their feet with guests we decided our custom was not wanted at this establishment and the 4 of us got up and left. The waiter even saw us leaving and still did not approach us. Poor customer service and definitely avoid.
Green flag - best decision we made to leave before ordering. We then went on to stumble across an amazing Turkish restaurant just off the High Street, ETCI Kitchen. Amazing place, fantastic service, very busy with guests and great vibes and...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Pamukkale in Brighton, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for an unforgettable meal.
As a couple of foodies from Portsmouth, we were so impressed with the food that we ordered the lamb twice! It was tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The grilled vegetables were a perfect complement, fresh and seasoned just right. To top it all off, we enjoyed airan, which was refreshingly delicious, and the Turkish coffee was the perfect end to our meal – rich and aromatic.
The quality and taste of the dishes far exceeded our expectations on both visits. The attention to detail and the passion for authentic Turkish cuisine are evident in every bite.
Special mention to Figo, whose exceptional service made our experience even more memorable. His attentiveness, knowledge, and friendly demeanor truly enhanced our dining experience.
If you're in Brighton and looking for a memorable dining experience, I highly recommend Pamukkale. It's a true gem that stands out for its exceptional food and wonderful service. We will definitely be making the trip from...
