I'm genuinely confused at all the wonderful reviews this place has. The restaurant itself looks very cute which is what originally drew us in and the service was polite (although I could hear the waiters complaining rather loudly to one another about a particular customer they'd had) but as for the food... most of it was basically an overpriced, frozen pre-packaged meal. Aunt Bessie potatoes, the cheapest microwave rice imaginable and tasteless veg. The only thing that had actually been 'cooked' was the steak, which was cooked to a perfect medium rare as requested, although lacked in any seasoning. We had to add salt and pepper to everything. As for the menu, based on reading reviews and restaurant name, we expected it to be authentic French food, however, I think the only French thing on the menu was the French onion soup, which came out with clearly cheap white french stick bread bought from a supermarket. The rest of the menu was a red flag from the start, with options ranging from Mexican, American, Italian, Indian and British. I've always wondered why this place doesn't come up in any Google searches or why no one's ever mentioned/recommended it to me and now I see why. I think the only reason it survives is because it appeared to be packed with regular OAP's who wanted simple meat and veg with no real flavour.

I came here and paid £30 for what was essentially Aunt Bessie Potatoes and Uncle Bens Rice. The potatoes had that powdered golden outside which is a dead give away. The french stick wasn't fresh, it was supermarket bread... and they couldn't even oven it for a few minutes to make it a little more fancy which takes no effort. The menu consisted of US, Mexican, Indian, Italian and french... so this isn't traditional as some "reviewers" point out

I use quotations because their reviews are suspicious... they had a bad review a few days ago and HOURS later a 5* one appeared from an account that was created newly and had left 18 reviews in random places all within minutes of each other.

I wasn't going to leave a review, but seeing as not only their food is a rip off for what it is, but they are manipulating Google star ratings I feel it is necessary.

My advice, to them... buy real vegetables and cook...

After viewing the menu which sounded really nice myself and a friend decided would go here for her birthday lunch only to find that it is actually closed until the 9/1/15 pity the website didn't say this as it quite clearly said it was open yesterday 5/1/15 very disappointed as friend lives in Bridgewater and made a special effort to come...
