This place is extremely popular with the daily shoppers visiting the central shopping srea in Blackpool. It provides cooked meals and a range of other savoury items as well as confectionery and beverages. As it is popular it can be difficult to get a seat and may have to queue. On these days prams and wheelchair access is virtually nil, if you do need access you must run the length of the establishment to the counter area where it is wider and wheelchairs and prams can be placed at the end of the table leaving the booth with 4 seats. Whilst this area accommodates people with extra needs it is also well placed for access to the toilet. But busy periods may cause a drop in standards of cleanliness. However generally this is a busy business even on quiet days, the food has been acceptable in quality and standard for the price charged. It is certainly a place to consider for those that want a reasonable snack/meal for a low price which wont break the bank. Pensioners and budget conscious people would be hard pressed to find anything equal in price, quality and standard. Finally if you dont want to sit in or there is no room due to popularity. You wont be disappointed with the takeaway attached selling pies pasties cakes and drinks. However most days at lunchtime there may be a queue which occasionally goes out the door. And whilst this may be annoying it can only atest to it's popularity quality...
Read moreAvoid like the plague unless you want to get ill. I bought a sausage and egg muffin which was unwrapped from the bakery counter and put on a plate to eat in the cafe section. Upon sitting down and inspecting it I saw it had cheese even though the menu had no mention of cheese. I returned it and they said they would make me one without cheese. However instead of putting my muffin sandwich in the bin, they put in on their counter. While I waited for my replacement sandwich, I saw them take my muffin to the side. I spied on them through a gap and saw them wrap it up again and put it back in the bakery display counter for sale again. This is shocking! Not only did I handle the food with my hands, if I had bad intentions, I could have put something nasty in it like glass or worse and the next person to eat it could get ill or worse. They didn't even open it to check if it had been tampered with. This is absolutely terrible. My replacement sausages were pink (not cooked) inside so I returned them for a refund. Avoid this place. You never know when you will be served recycled food handled by...
Read moreArrived in Blackpool train station nearly an hour late due to issues with train cancellation last Sunday. Walked in starving, my dad (diabetic) needed food at 3.45, opening times showing open till 4.30. was told to leave as the serving was finished.. we ended up going elsewhere.
Decided on Tuesday morning to give it another try as the local cafes were all 5pr6 quid each. So we went in ordered 3 x breakfasts, 2 teas and a coffee.
Before my mom had chance to say no milk in the 1 tea, the teas were poured. When mom did say 1 tea is black the server became rude saying should have said so. When she told mom the price was 18.50 she thought was joking. Expected 15 or 16 ish. To make the experience worse, the breakfast had next to no taste. And tasted like it had been kept warm and then reheaed.
On Wednesday, we went to newly reopened cafe a few streets away, had a bigger freshly cooked breakfast, and only paid 16 or 17 quid. The other cafés we looked at included the tea / coffee. Meaning this "cheap cafe" was actually the most expensive breakfast we had on our 3 night stay...
