Saray Restaurant — Restaurant in England

I've been here a few times with my boyfriend and we can only say good things about this place! Our first time we went was only because it was raining as it looked a little shabby for my taste, (I feel I should say I'm used to gleaming high class restaurants) but the staff more than made up for it and within minutes I felt very much like I was an honoured guest at a family home with wholesome, lovingly made food that they prepare in front of you and they don't skimp on flavour either! The reason however I rate this place ever so highly was that 6months later we went back and the owner remembered us, the food was consistently tasty-every time we go there we end up overeating as the food is so good and also down to all the extras we get given (for no extra charge) I'm a big believer in 'the little details' and this place is wonderful, and very very inexpensive for the service and taste! For those of you who think all Turkish food is hot, that is not the case as they prepare it freshly to order so you can decide to have in very spicy like myself or mild like my boyfriend! Go there, you will be so glad...

Our experience at the restaurante was really unpleasant.  They don't know how to serve the customer.

1 The waitress does not know how to communicate in English properly. Sometimes this can be covered with charisma and good energy but this was not the case.

2 They made us wait for more than 2 hours for our food.  Without any explanation.

3 The food was sent incomplete with considerable time differences.  The side dishes also came very late.

4 The main meal was quite good but the salads were like Tesco salads with no dressing or flavor.

5 There was no formal apology for the delay or any discount for incompetence.  When we wanted to pay, the waitress did not understand that we want to pay some in cash and some with card (divided to more people). When the manager came he calculated wrong how much we had to pay by customer and...

Very disappointed place. We came on holiday and decided to try Turkish food recommended by the locals. Our first request was lamb chops. The lady told us that the lamb chops had finished, 30 minutes later we saw regular customers being served lamb chops. We called one of the staff and ask them why was people being served with lamb chops and for us they told us was not available. The staff member very rudely said that if we were not rush they would have given us( they haven’t told us any of this and also we weren’t rushing as we were on holiday). Very poor customer service and burned food. Not good price for what we eat. Definitely...
