Spice Bros — Restaurant in England

I ordered via just eat. The delivery driver called when he was in the vicinity of my flat and told me to come to the car park to collect my food (which is about 5 mins from my flat) as he could not get a car park. I live in the Marina so it’s impossible to not get a car park. I explained to him very amicably that i have a baby and I’m alone with the baby so I could not walk that far in the night to collect the food. I politely told him exactly where I am and the lift will take him straight to my floor. Approximately Twenty minutes later and still no food…. I called back the driver who told me he was still looking for a park. Again I explained to him where he can park for a few mins. Even Mc Dondalds opposite my flat had spaces as I can see their car park from my balcony so I told him he can park for 5 mins there and come up with the flat. He rudely told me again to come to his car for the food. I again told him I couldn’t. So I phoned the restaurant and the girl who answered was very understanding, however, the owner then came on the phone and accused me of yelling at his driver and when I told him the situation and explained that I couldn’t go to the car park as I’m alone with my baby and it’s a few mins walk in the chilly night, he called me a liar and said he will never believe me over his driver. He continued to be rude and roughly told me to never order from him again. He then proceeded to tell me it must have someone home with me as the food I ordered was not for one person. Imagine this man had the audacity to question the amount of food I ordered!!! he then hung up the phone while I was speaking, I’ve ordered and are from hundreds of restaurants around the world and I never received this type of treatment…. Well he didn’t need to tell me to not order from him again because I certainly will not give a penny to this man again…. God does not sleep and what you do to others will come back to you!!!...

Absolutely ridiculous. I’m staying at a hotel and ordered via Just Eat. Spice Bros deliver themselves and don’t have GPS tracking. After a long time of it being marked as out fir delivery, I called them and they told me they waited outside and I never came out, so they took it back to the restaurant.

They never went inside the lobby to tell the front desk that they were there, which I had already called down to let them know I was expecting a delivery.

That they just waited outside and left lacks basic common sense.

Avoid.

I've stayed in dozens of hotels, I've never had an issue with one accepting deliveries. I've even had deliveries here at this hotel. Plus, I had called the front desk to let them know to expect you. Unfortunately, I never expected you'd have your driver just stand outside and wait instead of taking the two steps to the front desk.

I'm a tourist with a US number, so maybe that's why you couldn't get ahold of me. But again, your driver is at the hotel, is trying to call me, can't get ahold of me... common sense says to go inside and ask for them to call to my room.

And when I called at 20:20, 31 minutes after the order was marked for delivery, which I thought was long enough to prompt a call for a 6 minute car ride/12 minute bike ride, you were incredibly unhelpful and offered no resolution.

So who's at fault here, you ask? I guess I'll leave that up to those that read through a restaurant's reviews...

My original review on JUST EAT: Food arrived late, they had also given my food to someone else in my flat and had them Pay for it when I already paid for it. The biriyani tasted good but the tandoori chicken wings and kebab I ordered were not as good and extremely small portion size. I ordered from here before and wasn’t satisfied so I thought I’d try again just because of all the great reviews. Still not happy and at this point done from ordering here

Their response: Spice Bros replied Hi Ajan. so disappointed by this silly review. You ordered and paid for it which was correct. Delivered the food to your address but your flatmate opened the door who also ordered food which wasn’t paid for from elsewhere. My driver said this order was already paid for but your flat mate still wanted my driver to take the money. You called and I had my driver return to give back the money. In terms of the food size. All our portions are big so not sure what your references related to our food size or your friends food size. Thank you for you customer. Good luck with your next restaurant.

My response: My flatmates say otherwise and your driver did not say the order was paid for and took their money. Why would he take money if it was already paid for? In regards to the food size your packaging ratio to meal is ridiculous as more than half the boxes are empty. Instead putting the blame back on me as a business you should take the...
