Went here on Saturday for a hen party of 9. The communication with the booking staff was excellent, the waitress was polite but run off her feet. I was over the moon at having managed to book this as it looked lovely and the reviews were so good. That’s where it ends. We were sat for 1 hr waiting for the first course, then another 30 mins for the next course, which was mediocre at best. I had the duck salad, it was okay but the people that had the lamb gyros said they were disgusting, I didn’t taste it but it didn’t look good. We asked the waitress if she could do anything about the fact that we were waiting so long. Nothing happened, when asked again later she said she would ask the manager. A little while later the manager arrived, leaned over the bar and in a not very friendly manner asked who wanted to speak to him. He had a bad attitude from the beginning and stated that non of their food was microwaved and this is why it takes so long. I do wonder why they have 5 microwaves in their kitchen if they don’t use them? Anyway, with an argumentative manner he eventually said he would give us 10% off the bill. I went and sat down and a few minutes later my friend came and told me he had retracted this offer and was sending the police. In disbelief we sat there waiting to see what happened. The next thing we knew we were told by a doorman that we had to leave. We left the building in shock and then discovered that the venue had put us on pub watch and we couldn’t go to many of the venues, thus ruining the rest of the night. We spoke to a few people that evening and were told that he has done this to a few people. He obviously doesn’t know how to take a complaint and this stupid, knee jerk reaction will ruin the business for the other staff who were lovely. I am so disappointed as this beautiful venue turned out to be a hostile nasty place. I have actually looked a little deeper in to the reviews and found some very similar experiences. So if you go here and you don’t like the food or the service, I suggest you keep your moth shut or the manager will ruin your...
Read moreVisited as part of a group of 11 for our works Christmas do. We had to preorder our starters and main course and pay a deposit. When we arrived there was no evidence of our booking so we had to sit and wait for tables to be arranged. Once at the table it transpired our food order was incomplete with people's orders missing. It took over an hour for our starters to arrive and over two hours for our main course from when we arrived. Staff were lovely and pleasent and we were given some free drinks for the inconvenience. When the food did arrive, it was very nice and good sized portions. When booking a table we were told we could only have the table for 90 minutes and if we wanted to stay longer, we would have to book a booth downstairs but preorder £150 worth of drinks to secure a booth. We declined. After our meal we were told we could have a booth downstairs anyway, so we moved to there where the DJ was now playing. It was extremely busy and noisy. We could not continue our conversations and we were continuously being bothered by a group of middle aged men who wanted to join us. We soon left. The place was clean. The preorder menu was selective. We all had to have either starter and main or main and dessert, we couldn't mix which was disappointing as some didn't want starters and would have preferred desserts. I have to say, it wasn't my first choice as a works Christmas party venue, but that decision was made by others. I won't be...
Read moreA disappointing visit. Constantly felt we were in the way. Our initial waitress was quite miserable and intense, a smile even through her eyes would have gone a long way! Frankie had reserved a table for us which was very helpful but wished we had gone somewhere else. Never once asked if all was ok, had to keep asking waitresses flying past to order drinks, dessert and for napkins etc. Waiting for our first drinks for over half an hour. The outside was very busy and this clearly caused the staff a lot of stress and the atmosphere was fraught. Unfortunately sitting right next to the bar, we witnessed this and the relaxing Sunday afternoon celebrating a belated father's day didn't quite happen. Another waitress with blonde hair tied back was very helpful and friendly otherwise I don't think we would have stayed and so was the waiter who brought us our much longed for drinks (water served in plastic cups). The food was the usual good standard although the fries were in short supply (what happened to the lovely steakcut chips?) . The initial unhappy waitress brought us the bill and stood over us waiting for it to be paid, felt very rushed and decided to have a coffee...
