ad 6 Festive Things To Do in Brighton! Save this for your next day out from London to Brighton! As part of @southernrailuk’s #12DaysOutOfChristmas campaign, I was reunited with my best friend Hannah for a girly day out in @love_brighton Despite growing up near Brighton, this is the first time since we were teens that we spent a Christmas Day Out here so we were SO excited for it!!! I travelled from London to Brighton via Southern Railway. I booked my tickets in advance on the website and applied my 26-30 railcard to make an extra saving! 1) Go shopping in the Brighton North and South Laines 2) Find unique fashion and accessories at Snooper’s Paradise 3) Go ice-skating against the backdrop of the Royal Pavilion 4) Enjoy a pub lunch and Christmas themed dishes at The Walrus 5) See Christmas lights at Brighton’s Christmas Festival 6) Have hot chocolate and mulled wine at the Christmas market In terms of pricing, tickets are £16 for 12+ for ice skating, £11 for juniors and £14 for students and Royal Pavilion members. Opening times start from 9:30am - 9:30pm. The Christmas market is free entry and timings vary depending on the weeknight or weekend i.e. Christmas Market - Retail Mon - Thurs 8pm Friday 12-10PM Sat - Sun 10-10PM Christmas Market - Food and Bars Mon-Thurs 12 - 11PM Fri- Sun 10-11PM #Christmas #Brighton #ChristmasMarket #iceskating #christmas2022 #uktravel #englandtravel #daytrips #uktravels #londondaysout #visitengland #traveluk #bestplacestovisit #visitengland #lovegreatbritain #placestotravel #daytripfromlondon #londondaytrip #travellondon #londontravel #visituk #visitgreatbritain #uktraveller #staycationuk #traveltipsandtricks #ukdaysout #uktrains #traintravel #visitbrighton #brightonfood

Our family were lucky to enjoy a wonderful experience at this lovely venue. We arrived to a warm welcome and were instantly inspired by the decor. We were seated upstairs for a large group, by the large window, overlooking the street at a big table. We were treated by a lovely chap, called Dan. He was very friendly, sociable, honest and professional. (All the family commented about his service for days after). All kinds of meals and drinks were selected. But, I particularly chose the Chicken Burger with pulled pork and coleslaw. I would normally choose a standard beef burger. But, I was sold by looking at the menu.... 😁👍 This met all expectations and more! I would like to personally thank Dan and the team for a great experience. We understood there was a rather large party of guests also there. But, with no hesitation we were all looked after and in a professional manner. We look forward to visiting again. Next time to try a Roast Dinner. Thank you 'The Walrus' 👌😁🤌

Had booked a table in advance for a family gathering. Friendly welcome from a member of staff who advised our table was upstairs. Found our table situated next to the window that was nice however the table was incredibly sticky and needed a good clean. Each place had a small glass for water but unfortunately a lot of the glasses were dirty. Food arrived within 20 minutes of ordering but disappointed by the size of the plates (small for a roast) and small portions. One of the group finished his roast in 5 minutes. Everyone agreed that the roast potatoes were cold. The desserts were all fairly small as well and had clearly been bought in advance (not home made) The general cleanliness was poor with thick dust on top of the speakers, cobwebs visible and the light fixtures were grubby. As for the atmosphere well that was difficult to rate as we were the second table to arrive so it was very quiet, shame there was no background music. One guest ordered a tea that arrived with a dirty cup and no milk provided, had to ask for a clean cup and milk. Had this have been a cheap roast you wouldn’t mind so much but at £18 each it was not value for money.

One of the cities newest additions, and what a credit it is. Lovely old building that was previously 'Smugglers' the new interior decor has been done in a Victorian/colonial style and has a very comforting feel. There are numerous floors, the ground done out in a more traditional pub setting and has an ambience to match. The first floor is a restaurant and has a more laid back dining experience. The second floor is a roof garden and atrium area that also has a great vibe. The drink selection is very good with a large choice of wines, spirits and craft ales. The food is superb, one of my favourites being the 'Posh Lamb Kebab' which is gorgeous. The staff are very helpful and attentive. Since opening the Walrus has quickly become one of my favourite destinations in Brighton, well worth a visit.

Fantastic food! We came for a Monday roast dinner and was very happy with what we received. Please see the photos of our lovely meals the plates were massive, by far the largest plates used to serve roast dinners in Brighton. The portion sizes are huge and this shouldn't put you off if you were thinking that quantity means lack of quality. The attention paid to each ingredient is spectacular. There is so much flavour with every bite of the broccoli, the carrots, the red cabbage (which we still are a little unsure what was used to flavour that, All Spice, is what we settled on), and the main. They serve vegetarian, vegan and even plantbased options. Incredible. I had the vegan cheese wellington, with broccoli, carrots, red cabbage, roast potatoes and gravy. We will definitely be going back.

My local pub in Brighton and I’m very glad for that fact! Old English pubs like this absolutely need to be saved and preserved for future generations. I stopped in here with my partner for Sunday roast and we not disappointed! The staff were all lovely and friendly, the menu was well put together, and the food arrived quickly and tasted delicious. The roast lamb fell off the bone and the potatoes were crispy and fluffy at the same time. The whole plate was great! Love the way the place is styled. It feels cosy and warm. Ornaments and bric-à-brac up on the walls. Plants placed around for homeliness and dark wood everywhere. One thing I’d love to see (as we were both doing dry July) is more non-alcoholic options.
