Had a great week in Brighton despite the weather. Reading House was lovely and had everything we could have asked for. It is very well equipped and feels very homely. The two double beds are amazingly comfortable, the bedding and pillows added to this along with the soft teddy bear blankets. The twin beds weren’t quite as comfy but they did have the same bedding and soft blankets. It took a bit of getting used to the wood pellet heating but the fire in the kitchen made it very cozy for the miserable week that we had. When the sun did come out, it comes streaming into the kitchen/diner in the morning and then in the lounge in the afternoon, quite a sun trap. The location is great for walking - there is a field a block away and from there you can walk over the hills through the golf course and on to the next village and then come back on the undercliff path - great walk. The marina is very close with a supermarket and lots of places to eat and drink. The town is a pleasant 40 min walk along the coastal path by the beach however there is a bus stop just round the corner from the house if preferred with buses every few minutes. Would recommend this accommodation, great base for exploring Brighton and...
Read moreWe had an amazing stay! Having stayed in a few accommodations for large parties before, I often find myself disappointed by the execution — simple things like not having enough Prosecco glasses or enough showers and toilets. But this place was spot on! There was plenty of cutlery, plates, and glasses, plus two of each kitchen appliance, which made cooking and catering so much easier. The huge oven was perfect for preparing meals for a big group.
The lounge was bigger than expected and super cosy — perfect for a quieter evening in.
The location was brilliant: close enough to get involved in the buzz of Brighton’s town centre, but far enough away to escape the chaos when you want to.
And honestly, there were more showers and toilets than you can shake a stick at!
I’d definitely recommend this place for anyone planning a big group trip. Great value for money — especially if you can take advantage of the “third night free” offer.
My only suggestion would be to pack a few extra toilet rolls and dishwashing tablets, we only had 2 tablets for 3 days...
Read moreWe were disappointed with the apartment to be honest, we arrived late in the evening as we had to work, got the key from the key safe ok and had great difficulty with parking space. Got into the apartment and the heating had been off, fo the 1st December I would covet the partlent to be cleaned and the heating left on as it was freezing in the rooms. Main bathroom light didn’t work, good job I was not epileptic as it flashed so much! In total I would say there was 4 light bulbs that required changing, the integrated fridge has not been fitted corrected and falls forward when u use it. Generally the apartment is a bit tired and needs updating, the location was good, it was quiet and the neighbours were polite. The location for kemptown is great with some lovely cafes and bars in the surrounding streets. I did report the light etc however I was asked to send a pic which I forgot to do, not sure I should have to thought. My contact was kind enough to allow me different arrangements with returning the key which...
