Great atmosphere and ambience. Food was superb. One disappointment. We contacted the restaurant 90 minutes before we arrived, to order a bottle of champagne. Upon arrival, my guests saw the bottle on a side table. I didn't realise that the champagne was warm until I tasted it. I called the owner across to discuss this. He didn't appear to be concerned or apologetic. I find this lack of attention relating to an expensive drink, disappointing to say the least. The owner has replied to my review. My wife, who's birthday it was and my daughter, asked me not to make a fuss. I called the owner across, immediately after taking one sip of the champagne. If it wasn't for my family, I would have asked for the champagne to be taken away. Final question.
Why would you not put a bottle of champagne in a bucket of ice rather than leave it on a table and then serve it warm? You, the owner, are lucky my family told me not to cause an issue. Really? You are lucky I didn't tell you to take the bottle away and not pay for it. Incidentally, the owner very generously knocked a fiver off...
Read moreWe haven’t been here in a while, I just want to say WOW it’s still amazing as ever. Roberto is very welcoming and polite, there was only Roberto and a lovely young lady serving but between them they were like a dream team. Quick and efficient considering they had a full house, they didn’t stop! and even found the time to come over to ask if everything was okay for us. They both were fantastic and such a credit to the restaurant. The food was sensational, perfect portion size and the taste was superb! Compliments to the chefs, Definitely recommend the asparagus starter, filled pepper starter and the fillet steak. Also we weren’t expecting live music, all though short it was a lovely touch. You made my birthday evening one to remember. We’re looking forward to coming back soon. So glad we live in Scarborough! We won’t have to wait as long...
Read moreAn absolute gem. Chosen at random since it was the closest to our accommodation it has gone straight to the top of our restaurant list. The staff were friendly but not overly so. The ambience was welcoming. The food was to die for. I chose the insalata of crayfish and crab while my partner chose roast fig with soft cheese wrapped in palma ham for starters. We both chose the lobster ravioli for main. A bottle of very nice Merlot to go with it. The photographs don't do justice to how excellent this meal was. With change from £80 for both of us we were more than happy. I cannot recommend this place highly enough but would...
