I booked a weekend away to Scarborough for my partner and I as a Christmas gift and overall it was a nice little get away. Upon arrival we were greeted by the chef who was helpful who then went to find us another member of staff to check us in. Overall the room was good. Clean and comfy however, both mornings we were woken by the smell of food being fried which was rather unpleasant. If you are a vegetarian this would be awful as the smell of fried sausgaes was not nice. Our clothes even smelt of it when we were out and about. I'm not sure what could be done about this as the cafe which is downstairs is open to everyone not just guests and it is busy until the late afternoon when it closes. The room was very hot and the sash windows do not open more than 10cm. If you experiance hot flushes this was not nice. In the summer id imagion this is not much fun. Finally the Internet is very slow as it the TV when logging onto Netflix or the TV guide. We didn't have breakfast as it was £11 per person so unable to comment on the food. We enjoyed Scarborough but we wouldn't stay at this hotel again. For the £160 for 2 nights for bed only, I feel it is overpriced and we found somewhere we would stay at instead if we visited again which is better...
Read moreWe booked a long weekend away an decided on here, we are so glad we did! Claire an her staff are truly amazing an do everything they can to make sure your stay is comfortable, need local knowledge ask, or read the visitors book in the rooms. The room an ensuite were spotless, an believe me, I check everything! The white towels where the fluffiest, clean smelling towels I have ever had (apart from my own!) Even little mints, its the little things!! The tea an coffee facilities where stocked up an replaced daily! (Please add sweetners with the sugar!). The hotel issues you with parking permits for a daily fee think £4, parking was plentiful but it was November. The stroll to the harbour was fun, theres some hills around Scarborough, but it was central for us as a base to explore. There is a lovely little coffee shop in the lodge, open to the public which is busy, cakes looked amazing!! All in all I would recommend here an 5☆ all the way!!...
