Volks Club — Restaurant in England

I don’t usually put reviews out there but I feel like this is more than necessary. I was falsely accused of taking drugs inside the premises, which categorically did not happen. We then asked if we could see the CCTV, but was refused due to GDPR even though the footage was to do with myself so, no laws would have been broken. We then asked for ID numbers of the bouncers present and they refused to show them, and proceeded to cover up the ID badges, which is illegal. My friends and I were then verbally and physically abused, meaning tackled on the ground for trying to get a picture of the ID number, pushed and held aggressively by the bouncers outside the venue which in turn, left my sister in tears, feeling intimidated and terrified about how she was treated, and one of my friends having bruises on her arm. Terrible night watching The Toasters. Sold and introduced as all the way from NYC. They are not. English through and through. Shocking and played for less than an hour. £30 to get in and less than an hour set from a purely English band promoted as from NYC. The band made venue leave on horrible strip lights during the very short gig. Killing any atmosphere. We politely spoke to Chris the promoter who literally shouted in my ear and was very aggressive. No refund as his dog was ill. He said he does a lot for charity. No charity registration on this gig? Volks you are better than this! This is Brighton, do not use a misogynistic aggressive promoter who tells lies and has no professional or people skills what so ever. Let’s your whole club down.

Volks is the main Club I go to. It is ( in my opinion ) the best Club in Brighton. Without a doubt the best sound system and they actually get big djs in unlike most other clubs/venues. I also get to play here on thursdays and the vibes are always there whether it's a weekend or a weekday! All of the staff are super nice and super friendly. I've always showed the staff respect and always given respect back. Never Seen anything bad in this place few fights few weirdos but the security are always on it! This Club is amazing if you love dnb you should definitely go. It's not the bad place a lot of people think is.
