I had booked a table for 4 yesterday (15/6/25) for Fathers Day for 18.00pm. On arrival at reception it took a few minutes for the person to decide which table we would be seated at even though we booked it in advance, the person looked puzzled & after discussing it with another colleague we were eventually seated.
The atmosphere in the place seemed fine, decor was good, table & seating on chairs & sofas was comfortable & good. The servers greeting when we were seated was warm & friendly.
At the time there were only a handful of tables which had customers seated in small groups, once we were seated, no one attended to us to take our drinks or food orders after 10-15 mins and so I had to get the attention of one of the servers to call them over for us to place our order.
I noticed a table nearby to us which had 6 people seated who had arrived after us had already received their drinks & starters before we eventually received our drinks.
Throughout the duration of our evening I had to constantly flag down a server every time we needed to order more drinks or food, the servers attention to customers just was not there. As more people arrived & more tables were taken the level of service got pretty bad.
Once the food arrived on our table, we were asked within a couple of minutes whether everything was fine before we even got the chance to sample the different dishes. The food was good in parts but the portions were a mismatch with the pricing, food was over-priced.
I can give 2 examples of this from the food we ordered, first example was a non-veg platter to share, it had a single small piece of kebab, one chicken piece on the bone & one piece off the bone, single small piece of fish & one lamb chop, priced at almost £16, there is no way you share that, so it was disappointing. When I raised this with one of the servers & checked whether it was correct they provided no explanation.
The second example was a desert which was a gulab jamun with ice cream, it came with once piece gulab jamun & a mini scoop ice cream priced at £7, well over priced.
The level of service to customers & the portion sizes with their costs are a mismatch are the 2 negatives from my experience in my opinion at this restaurant. Both of those areas need reviewing & addressing. Servers need additional adequate training when attending to customers.
As a person who grew up in Leicester until the age of 19 & then spent 25 years working & living in London and who was regularly eating out, having returned back to Leicester at the back end of last year I do think the food dishes at this eatery are over well priced.
Its easy to get customers in first time round but to get customers to re-visit frequently to your place can be a challenge, especially in todays competitive market in order to survive in the long term.
Do you get value for money at this place ? I dont think so. Would I visit this place again soon within 3 months ? No. Would I visit after 6 months ? maybe, unsure.
Hope my detailed review provides you with some feedback to reflect on & address in order for customers to have a better experience in the...

The food was absolutely spot on. Every dish was bursting with flavor, perfectly spiced, and beautifully presented. We tried a variety of items from the menu, and everything from the starters to the desserts was exceptional. It’s rare to find a restaurant where every dish impresses, but Amrut managed it effortlessly. My personal favorite was the Paneer which was cooked to perfection. The portions were not overkill and not too little and offered fair value for the quality.
