We had what we hoped would be a fun night out at Barbara’s Bier Haus in Bournemouth, but it turned into a nightmare. After just a couple of drinks over the course of about two hours, my best friend suddenly became disoriented, confused, and physically unwell, clear signs that something wasn’t right. We knew she wasn’t drunk, we were there the whole time, and she had barely consumed anything. Instead of helping or showing any concern, the staff and doorman were completely dismissive, repeatedly insisting she was just drunk and refusing to listen to us. No support, no care, just a cold shoulder. It was clear they weren’t interested in the safety or wellbeing of their customers. We later had to take her to the hospital, where doctors confirmed she had been spiked. It’s an experience I wouldn’t wish on anyone, and it was made 10 times worse by how poorly it was handled by the venue. This is a serious issue and should be treated as such. Barbara’s Bier Haus needs to train their staff and security to take these situations seriously, listen to customers, and prioritize safety over brushing things under the rug. Until they do, I would strongly advise others, especially women, to think twice before...
Read moreBeen 4 times now at different times to get a broad impression, it's somewhere between a Bar and a Club. Prices are at the Club end being £6/pint, Entry fee after 10pm being £3.00, toilets are dark wet club grade. Cider served is Inch's rather than Stowford Press or Aspall. So in comparison to Revolutions (before they let themselves go) they aren't targeting the affluent young professionals, but still have a premium price tag. Music is very tinny pop in the first room later in the evening which will become repetitive over time like Vinyl has. It will become a alterative to Cameo so will be successful with the students but at the moment it is trying to be too many things. This should have been a British take on the Bier Haus theme rather than a cheesy copy that will become tiered overtime. I'm giving it 3 star due to the entry fee, it stops it being a impulse pub venue and traps people in like a club would, 10pm is far too early. Unfortunately Popworld has the same issue and why it's always empty meanwhile both...
