Brighton was in dire need of a bagel shop of this calibre so it’s great to see one open up in this top open market location. I went with the salmon and schmear, and I was then given options for types of salmon, going with a flakier ā€œpastramiā€ style, and type of schmear, which was herbier and more vibrant flavour than I expected. My companions went with the vegan option which they both said was great although if you don’t like beetroot, you’re out of luck. I’d love to see more vegan options going forward. It’s clearly a family run place too which I love (one of the owner’s mums was in the back rolling bagels herself). I think a part of this style of place, there may have been few teething issues logistically. The bagels took about 15 mins to make for instance, no biggy but something to keep in mind.

A great addition to the Open Market in Brighton. The bagels are high quality and clearly very well made, being chewy, a little sweet and so moist. The flavour really comes through, and I was glad to have more bagel than filling! Talking of fillings, they are superb. My pastrami salmon was so delicate and vibrant, maybe overpowered by the other additions but grand nonetheless. The cream cheese shmear with confit wild garlic was a bomb of creaminess that worked so well. It’s gets really busy and the queues can pile up, so make sure to leave a decent amount of time - well, for a bagel anyway (probably max 10 mins lol) At Ā£11.50, it was a little high priced, making it a ā€˜every so often’ treat opposed to a cheeky lunch to grab and go. All in all, fab stuff though!

Absolutely UNREAL. I’ve been there three times now and it’s seriously the gift that keeps giving. The bagels are unreal and the fillings are divine. I’ve had the kraut/chilli oil, the pastrami and today I had the pastrami style salmon and I was completely blown away. Didn’t have time to take a picture as it was too good - sorry! The team in there are super knowledgeable, they source locally and from independents which speaks volumes to the type of business this is. Thank you all so much, I’ll be back in a few days haha!

Very different to the the beigels we usually enjoy from Brick Lane but delicious all the same. They are 1.75 each or 5.00 for 3, so considerably more expensive too! I thoroughly enjoyed mine at home toasted with cream cheese, pepper and cornichons šŸ˜‹ My husband had his with cream cheese, black pepper, cornichons and pastrami. My daughter went for avocado and mature cheddar cheese šŸ˜‹ They are selling like hot cakes, so do be prepared to queue or return the next day due to selling out. Looking forward to making this a regular treat. The owners girlfriend is just...
