such an amazing space to be in. Our waiter was such a lovely man and did such an amazing job, he gave us the best seat in the establishment too! I hope he had a very good rest after the shift! we went on a Wednesday valentines and it was a little busy but the service was still quick and amazing. For cocktails they have a largeee variety and i had the Apple pie which was so stunning, nice and sweet but not at all too sickly just right, my partner had the French75 which wasn't to my personal taste but he loved, it was slightly zesty and tasted lemony but had a strong finish. We tried the Love Potion too which was a valentines special i believe and as much as i wanted to love it, it was veryyy much too sweet but still lovely! the rest of the night i had classic mojitos which were absolutely perfect! for food i had the spaghetti and my partner had the fish and chips and they were both amazing and very lovely portions. they had a valentines menu however it wasn't as intriguing as the regular a la carte menu! we also ordered the meat charcuterie board with cheese, absolutely delectable loved every single bite! We also had an extra side of chips, again for something so simple it was to die for! the dessert was the topper of the evening, a smoking tiramisu, our waiter showed us how it worked, dry ice in a small bowl with poured water onto it and the smoke bubbled out so stunningly, the dessert in a triangular bowl was placed on top. the tiramisu itself was the best dessert I have ever had, to this day I cannot stop thinking about it! so lush and creamy and just absolutely delicious!! I had the best evening, once our bill arrived they had put 2 mints in there for me and my partner and brought a rose for us for the occasion!! i hope to come back soon. such a lovely environment with the best staff!!

Myself and my daughter found this place by chance on our last evening of a short trip here last week we’d already had dinner so didn’t eat here unfortunately but it is now on our list to do so. We were looking for somewhere to go for a cocktail as we were leaving the next day and bit of live entertainment. We had already walked past during the day and had pointed out what a lovely place it looked so I was quite glad that we got the chance to go back. We sat by the bar and downstairs it wasn’t particularly busy but the atmosphere and the place is just so welcoming warm and comfortable. It’s a nice place to be in.The bar Staff were absolutely fantastic Finn was the initial bartender on his own and when it picked up, he still kept up the pace he was Making complicated cocktails for people but will still be personable fast and letting customers enjoy the cocktails that he had made. He was then joined by Callam who also worked just as hard it was in refreshing watching people enjoy their jobs. A small note I would like to also add is that I was impressed on how hot they were on ID and everybody that came into the bar. The bar started to fill up and the atmosphere just got even better. They had a live band there that evening that we’re doing covers of songs and they to were very interactive and just really made the whole place come alive (the iron boot scrappers) We had some quite theatrical cocktails and a few drinks and left after a few hours, but we will definitely be back for food and more drinks the next time we are back thank you for a great time.

Cool atmosphere, nice drinks. Drinks menu is pricey but we enjoyed all the drinks we got. Food is actually great value for money since you’re also getting the “fancy restaurant experience”. Plus nowadays à main costs £15 at most places. Huge portions and very tasty. However a lot of the dishes on the menu were mislabelled as vegetarian when they had meat in them. Food service took a while (over an hour) even though we were the only table ordering food but the servers were very friendly. My family ordered 3 Smoked Bacon & Emmental Cheeseburgers (£16 each) and I ordered The Truffle Burger (£15). We ordered the Calamari Fritti with black garlic mayonnaise to share. My burger was yummy and the portions were huge. Unfortunately, the calamari was disappointing. It was very over cooked but the mayonnaise was yummy. For drinks, we ordered cocktails: Morphine (£12), Butterfly Effect (£12), and I can’t remember what else 😅 but they were all very good. I just felt like the presentation of the drinks was a little lazy. Overall, we left happy but I feel like I need to give this place another go because I think I just went on a bad day.

Slow service and awful food. 'It was like being served cheap freezer food!'

(key points: extremely slow service / dry, bland, reheated food / £4 for half a draft coke!)

1: 3 of us arrive for lunch on Monday approx 2.30pm, one other table apart from ourselves in the venue. We are seated and are bought menus shortly after.

We wait at least 15-20 minutes before someone comes out to take our order which is excessive since it was not busy. We place our order for a few small plates of food and 3 non fancy drinks (a coke, sparkling water and a latte).

We are then sitting there for a further 30 minutes before our drinks are bought out, followed immediately by the food. It seems an odd way to do things and we would have preferred the drinks to arrive earlier whilst we waited for our food.

Whilst eating our food and chatting it comes to light that we are all disappointed with what we have ordered. -Truffle and parmesan dressed chips (dry, hard, feel like left over reheated old chips with a tiny hint of truffle flavour and the smallest sprinkle of parmesan cheese on top that was on about 3 chips) Nduja and cheese stuffed croquettes (dry again, possibly day old reheated, very hard to cut and absolutely no flavour, just dense, dry, claggy potato) Calamari rings (the best thing of the bunch but still not amazing, the calamari itself was cooked well and felt it had been cooked fresh to order atleast! Which really feels like the bare minimum with simple food.

Our waitress comes outside during our meal to go for a cigarette break, we catch her attention on her way back in and she asks how everything is, we are honest and just say its really quite disappointing, describing the above issues. She tells us that we are not the first people to make a complaint in the recent past. She advises she will try and get some of the items removed from our bill, clears our table and disappears again.

Another 20 minutes go by and we flag the waitress back down to get our bill, she advises that she was able to remove 1 portion of chips and the Croquettes. We accept this and she goes away again. We are waiting for her to bring over the card machine but she never does, so we get up and go over to the waiter station to pay. We have decided to remove the service charge as the service was very very slow, she gives us a hard time that we did not tell her we did not intend to pay any service charge before she printed the bill, but we had no way of knowing that it would be included until we got the bill? She makes us feel awkward about it for a while but then says we can leave.

I can quite honestly say I will never go back here. The only good parts were the music and the decor! I am sure the cocktails are fine but I have not tried those.

I know I could do better myself at making all the items we ordered today. It was like eating cheap...

Shocking customer service! We were a group of 7 and we did not all arrive at the same time. We sat at 8:20pm ( our reservation was 8:00pm ) only to be told that we have 10 minutes to order as the kitchen is closing! Question: Why did they take the reservation at this time to begin with!

The food was less than average and the main took 40min to arrive! In a place that the cocktails cost £9.50 I certainly expect something more than average.

When we finished our main we asked for desert menus only to be told that we could not order desert as the kitchen is already closed! When we queried with the waiter why we were not told that in advance or maybe be given the option to order deserts in advance...he lied on our face telling us that he asked us and we did not want any!!! It was outrageous. He was standing there telling to all 7 of us that we declined a desert when we were asked and we were clearly all in shock! Rude and unprofessional with an extra portion of lies from his part.

We asked to talk to the manager and he told us he is the manager. I couldn't believe it! Such bulgar manners from a manager...it had never happened to me before! He told us that as English was not his first language maybe we did not understand well. Funny enough, we were communicating perfectly ok before and after his desert question...

He asked us ( without even us tequesting it) " Shall I bring you the bill?". So, he did not only provide extremely poor customer service, lie on our face, underestimated our inteligence and consequently insulted all 7 of us...he also wanted us out of the restaurant! Nice!

When the bill arrived, knowing that I would definitely share my horrific dining experience with others, I asked the new gentlemen if the name of the manager was the one on the receipt... "O" only to be told that he is not the manager as the manager was himself!!! Confused!

We explained once again the situation and unbelievably, he told us that it was the first complaint on his 6 months working there ( believable? Definitely NOT!) and he backed up the waiters story!

15 mins and 7 extremely unhappy customers later, after a lot a arguing between the managers and us... we left despite the fact that we chose this place with an intention to stay after dinner for cocktails at the bar.

Am I going to go back? I DON'T THINK SO! (actually, I...
