VERY disappointed with this visit. I was a very big fan of Bread Meats Bread since the early days with their compact & bijou outlet in the original St Vincent Street location, however this visit has left me very disappointed and borderline angry.
My wife and I decided that we would stop by BMB in Silverburn for a bite to eat, having both been big fans of their burgers and poutine. (Cali 3x3 was my favourite while the wife loved the angry bird poutine). On this occasion, I opted for the Chad Hogan while the good lady wife stuck with poutine.
Unfortunately, it would appear that standards have slipped as BMB have grown. While there has been growth in the number of outlets, the reverse is true of the portion sizes. I was charged £5 for the "Buffalo Fries" which I have had in the past, however this time, they consisted of no more than, at the VERY most, 12-15 chips with some buffalo sauce over them. The Chad Hogan pulled beef and pork was dry with no sign of the promised BBQ sauce. The poutine had less than half a chicken breast on top.
Safe to say, I was bitterly disappointed at this visit and if this is the sign of things to come from BMB, then this will likely be the last...
Read moreI've only just discovered this place and came back 2 days in a row for lunch, which requires a lot of effort with how busy I am, so it must be with the effort! Pulled brisket toastie is awesome, and their shakes are incredible. I'm always on the lookout for the best shakes, and these are so thick they are almost thickshakes, and with heaps of flavour but not too sickly sweet. The wait staff are exceptionally friendly, with one of the staff (who I think might be the manager?) suggesting I go for the lunch time meal deal, as it would actually work out cheaper. It's a small thing in customer service, but it makes a difference. I've trained thousands of people in customer service, from big companies to restaurants, to govt, and can honestly say I think the staff here are a real credit to the business. They were attentive, quick to serve, friendly, provided serviettes to a young mother unprompted, as well as hot water for baby bottles, interchanging with each other which shows they communicate, know their customers, and pay attention. Great place, great food, great staff. Well done. (Their lunch deal is 12.95 with chips and a drink, available during a really wide...
Read moreCold “loaded fries” loaded with unmelted pre-grated cheese and ancient bacon pieces. Son had their regular burger I got the “wolf” burger and both were unappetising for different reasons. His was dry, like biting into a sand patty. The wolf burger was dry too but it was topped with the most inedible, stringy, gloopy funky tasting“pulled pork”. The service was bad. Apart from the tall bald fellow, who seemed to be doing everyone’s job, the rest of the staff were clueless and have no idea how to spot someone waiting to order or someone wanting to pay. Also, serious lack of condiments. When our meal arrived, I had to wait another 5 mins for someone to get us some ketchup. 5 Guys is across the aisle from this place and I regret not going there. Close by there are various other eateries that provide a better burger experience. This store is on the same level as the burgers you get at Hortons. Absolute boak material. Forgot to add, the Coke was flat and you only get one paper straw that becomes saturated...
