on a night out with friends yesterday. stepped out for a cigarette and could see a topless male diving about, harassing other people and eventually making his way over to us and right behind my friend and touched her. i had to push him away twice, asked for assistance from bouncers but was told that he’d been out here for around 2 hours harassing and aggravating people outside the pub, and nothing could be done because he “hadn’t done anything wrong” and that technically the doorstep and street weren’t part of the premises.
i had absolutely no help from bouncers to protect myself and others (their job) from an intoxicated and aggressive man which was utterly profound to me. only when he approached a group of males, the bouncer stepped in and swung him to the floor. i felt completely disregarded and let down, especially given the need for extra saftey for females specifically on nights out. public intoxication, disorder, and nuisance are section 38 public order offenses, there was a call to be made and the bouncers decided to fence-sit.
if it wasn’t possible for them to intervene, their next solution should be to call the police as his behaviour warranted action. the fact that he had been milling around for 2 hours is beyond me, so extremely disappointing. hopefully the security here takes aggressive behaviours more seriously as my friend would not have been touched by him if something was done...
Read moreDuring a short stay in Glasgow with a friend, we decided to visit Kitty O’Shea’s for a drink around 22.30 The place had a fantastic vibe with great live music and an inviting atmosphere. We had a wonderful time, but by 00.15 AM, we decided to call it a night.
We had left our jackets draped over a chair, but to our shock, my friend’s jacket was missing when we went to retrieve them. We immediately approached the security team to report the issue. To our relief, every single security staff member was extremely understanding, empathetic, and genuinely helpful. They brainstormed solutions with us and went out of their way to assist.
At one point, someone who appeared to be the manager or head of security even walked my friend to review the CCTV footage. Thanks to their efforts, they managed to locate and return the missing jacket.
We were deeply impressed by the dedication and professionalism of both the security team and the bar staff. The level of effort and care they showed was truly exceptional and far beyond what we would have expected.
To put it simply: in the Netherlands, we doubt this kind of attention and effort would ever have been given to such a situation. Massive respect and compliments to the team at...
Read moreI usually have had really good experiences with Kitty's in the past! The recent renovations are great, good pints and great live music! However, my boyfriend and I went here for a pint on a Tuesday night, having ONLY had 2 pints previously, my limit is usually 6. As soon as we arrived, one of the bouncers took one look at me and said I was too drunk to get in and apparently I had stumbled down the street walking towards it. I was absolutely fine, I don't think 2 pints merits someone being so drunk they can't get into a bar. Clearly a blatant lie. I thought he was joking but the other guy was seriously adamant we weren't getting in. I came here after my grad ball this year, having had way more to drink, and was never denied entry. Shameful really, to have some gaslighting bouncers with a god complex, get some new bouncers Kitty's. Pathetic excuses for why we were denied entry, clearly they're ok with letting people in who are actually drunk but can't give you a legitimate reason as to why they're not letting you in if you aren't drunk. Get off your high...
