the food is alright but when buying a box of sushi they only have one TINY sachet of soya sauce that will only be suitable for about three bites when there's like 12 bites. when you ask for more soya they charge you 10p for each extra sachet you buy which is completely unnecessary because it isn't on the customer for not bringing their own extra soya sauce when the one in store isn't enough. people barely even eat in and always takeaway so it'd definitely be more convenient to have more sachets and it'd be appreciated. also, for the price of ONE box of sushi it was probably the worst I've ever eaten. it fell apart so easily...not even homemade sushi is made this bad. I eat sushi almost everyday and I definitely would know. my daughter had to eat the sushi with her literal hands because of how hard it was to eat...

I recently visited your Bournemouth branch and ordered the Sweet Chilli Chicken with rice, a dish I frequently enjoy from your Poole location. Unfortunately, I noticed a significant difference in quality between the two branches.

At the Poole branch, the chicken bites are smaller, well-prepared, and paired with a perfectly balanced sweet chilli sauce. However, at Bournemouth, the chicken pieces were larger, containing a lot of skin and fat, which affected the overall experience. Additionally, the sweet chilli sauce was overly spicy, overpowering the flavor of the chicken itself.

I believe consistency across locations is key to maintaining customer satisfaction. I would kindly suggest reviewing the preparation process at the Bournemouth branch to align it with the quality and taste provided by...

Ordered a Pumpkin katsu curry, it turned up and the Pumpkin absolutely stank of fish. When I tried it, it tasted fishy - it was very CLEARLY cross contaminated so the kitchen cannot be following food hygiene standards. I've been veggie for 15 years and I know that this tasted wrong, it was fishy. Not in a well it's prepared in a sushi bar so theres fish sround fishy, but clearly been cut on a fish chopping board or the like tasted fishy. Absolutely rancid They also didn't bother packing the desert we paid for.

This was giving them a second chance after last time we ordered they didn't include the katsu SAUCE.

1/5, would be 0 if I could due to the clear cross-contamination. I wouldn't recommend, especially to veggies and vegans.

Thanks Kokoro, you made a vegetarian cry...

When a certain Japanese food chain just across the road closed during the pandemic, I was devastated. However when Kokoro opened up, I was curious if it could be a good stand in, and I was right to check this place out. It's a relatively small restaurant but the food here is superb. You generally pick either rice or noodles and then pick food to accompany it, such as chicken katsu, teriyaki salmon, spicy beef etc. The portion sizes here are great too. When you ask for large, the staff not only give you large, but they'll cram enough food into your bowl until the lid can just about stay on. I'm always satisfied with the amount of katsu chicken they give because this place doesn't hold back. There's also a great selection of Sushi here as well as additional hot and cold food options.
